  • Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy

    • ABRIDGED (18 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By Vincent Bugliosi
    • Narrated By Edward Herrmann

Polls reveal that 85 percent of Americans believe there was a conspiracy behind Lee Harvey Oswald. Some even believe Oswald was entirely innocent. In this encyclopedic, absorbing audiobook, Vincent Bugliosi shows how the public has come to believe such lies about the day that changed the course of history. Bugliosi has devoted almost 20 years of his life to this project, and is determined to show that, despite the overwhelming popular perception, Oswald killed Kennedy and acted alone.

Lawrence D. Clayton says: "On an equal footing with Helter Skelter"
    "Well done"

As a witness to the events of November 22, 1963 and the conspiracy nonsense that followed, I was pleasantly surprised by Mr. Bugliosi's book. Thoughfully presenting the evidence of the real crime, Oswald's assassination of the President, a rationale person would be persuaded of Oswald's sole complicity in the foul deed. Mr. Bugliosi has utilized the Warren Commision's and the House Committee on Assasination's thorough reports to de-bunk the conspiracy arguments one by one. A must read.

  • The Coming of the Third Reich

    • UNABRIDGED (21 hrs and 10 mins)
    • By Richard J. Evans
    • Narrated By Sean Pratt
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

There is no story in 20th-century history more important to understand than Hitler’s rise to power and the collapse of civilization in Nazi Germany. With The Coming of the Third Reich, Richard Evans, one of the world’s most distinguished historians, has written the definitive account for our time.

Tad Davis says: "Compelling and depressing"
    "A Clear View of Terror"

Over the years, I have fancied myself as an amateur expert on WWII and the Third Reich. This tome proved their is so much to learn. This is the first volume that places the Third Reich in and time and space continuum, where factors inside and out of Germany molded the future of the country. A closer look at Bismarck, the effects of WWI on the natinal psyche, the perceived failings of the Weimar Republic, the distressed world-wide economy, inherent German conservatism and nationalism, communist aggitation and latent anti-semitism conspired to make the Thrid Reich.

Read this book and you will understand how a minority party utilizing terror, scape-goatism and an emotional, not intellectual, appeal led Hitler to legal/consitutional power.

Life is breathed into the main characters, deflecting the grainy photos and memories from the past. Some were complex, some were simple and some were conflcited as the played part in this tragic play. The Third Reich was not inevitable, because early on courageous people and forces could have taken a stand against evil and turned the Riech into a historical footnote.

Listen to this story, it is a clear, lively and informative narrative

  • The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill: Visions of Glory 1874-1932, Volume 1

    • UNABRIDGED (21 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By William Manchester
    • Narrated By Frederick Davidson

    Dean says: "Wonderful"
"A perfect blending of the times and the man"

I have read a number of books on Mr. Chruchill but this is the best. I learned a great deal about the people who played a part in this epoch time. How their views molded England's and other's responses to the coming debacle. It seemed that any number of people could have changed the course of history, but only Winston did it and he almost never had the opportunity. I have listened to all of Volumes of the Last Lion and this review applies to all of them.
