First published by brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm in 1812 as a collection of retold Germanic folk stories, this collection of such well-known fairytales as Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty transports listeners to a realm where “Once upon a time” often ends up “happily ever after”…and where giants, princesses, kings and fairies pursue power, find true love, have all sorts of magical adventures — and in the process reveal multi-faceted truths about human nature.

Would you consider the audio edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales to be better than the print version?

Yes, It brought it alive in such a fun way

What did you like best about this story?

It's a collection of stories; most of which I didn't know.

Have you listened to any of Robin Field’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Robin Field's narration was the best I've ever heard in all of my audible books. I walk a great deal and I listen to audio books when I walk. I burst out laughing so many times listening to cadre of characters and voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Definitely made me laugh.

    Any additional comments?

    It was VERY enjoyable.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Probably, not. If you are looking for a good high-level overview of how powerful social media is, this is a good book for that. If you are looking at steps to take to implement a social media strategy, this is not. I listened to the whole book, but honestly, I found myself waiting for it to be over so I could move on.

This is probably a better book to go with: Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs

Would you recommend Socialnomics to your friends? Why or why not?

not really. I did not find the information actionable.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no; would be too boring.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The Science of Mind is such an important book, but, unfortunately, this is a terrible audio version. It's not the quality, but the narrator mispronounces words constantly (like Duality is pronounced Dulty; Omnipotence is pronounced Omni Potence; Results sounds like Resots, and it's on and on and on). Clearly, he has never been around this material, no one coached his pronunciation, and they let it stand. It is so annoying it's hard to listen to. When one thinks that Science of Mind principles out of the mouth of someone as inspired as Louise Hay sounds like beautiful poetry to me, this audio sounds like a dull lecture in comparison.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Horrible narrator. Sorry to say. Mispronounces very important words over and over again.

  • Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?

There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

Anthony K says: "Like the Muhammad Ali of Seth Godin Books"
    "MUST READ!!!"
    Overall

I would recommend this to anyone open to honestly evaluating their work life/ career or what they're offering the world. Mr. Godin is a cutting edge thinker, and sharpening your saw by listening and pondering his take on things. I would say I couldn't put it down, but that's the wrong metaphor...I couldn't stop listening and can't wait to listen again. This is my first Seth Godin book, so please I'm not a groupie....well, not yet!
