Twelve-year-old Eon has been training for years. His intensive study of Dragon Magic, based on Oriental astrology, involves two kinds of skills: sword-work and magical aptitude. He and his master hope that he will be chosen as a Dragoneye - an apprentice to one of the 12 energy dragons of good fortune.

But Eon has a dangerous secret. He is actually Eona, a 16-year-old girl who has been masquerading as a 12-year-old boy for the chance to become a Dragoneye.

I am always looking for good, clean fantasy and usually end up reading books directed at teens to avoid anything too sex-laden or trashy. But even though the audience for this book is young, I found real characters with genuine emotional depth, an intriguing story and a fantastic perspective into an extinct culture. I can't wait for the next one! The narration was great (a little fast at times) without any awkward voices or straining, and I was completely addicted to this fabulously written book.

I loved the whole series and felt lonely when it was over! Great story, good writing and the narration really pulls you into the story. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

About to be executed for murder, Yelena is offered an extraordinary reprieve. She'll eat the best meals, have rooms in the palace, and risk assassination by anyone trying to kill the Commander of Ixia. And so Yelena chooses to become a food taster.

I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I found it very addicting and can't wait to get into the next two. It is free from illicit language or sex and my ONLY complaint is that the narrator lacked emotion. The writing really draws you into the characters and I was really sad to see the first book end!

About three things I was certain. First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominant that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Just get over yourself and read these books, already! Remember, there is a reason they are so ridiculously popular, even my husband has read them! Meyer's writing is a little tedious at times, sort of unseasoned, but the characters will draw you in and soon you too will be fantasizing about becoming a vampire!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

I hate books with explicit sex, violence and foul language. Unfortunately this book has it all, but it is presented in such a way so that it is no sensationalism, but realistic. There are times when I think the language is overboard, so beware, this is not a light read. Yet, the story is fascinating and the insights into the time period unparalleled. Don't read if you have a weak stomach.
