The book would have been better without all of the valgarness and the extensive directives of each and every minute detail of characters, bugs, flies, etc. I really believed that the book would be a slight deviation from the movie, which it is. But, the author goes on and on and on and on and on for days about nothing. Some of the story lines are just unnecessary.
It will definitely not be a Stephen King book. I will just wait for the movie. At least the fluff will be removed. I must say, if I had read/listened to the book prior to the movie. I would not have watched the movie.
The scene with the Trash Can Man and the stupid young person. I would have also cut out the scene with the four men and the rapes of eight women. Just aweful. Also, I hate the use of the word "Nigger". Even at the time of original publication, that word was obsolete and really distasteful.
I expected more.
I do not know how the film writers pull a script out of this book, but I am so disappointed in this book. Rest In Peace, but the author uses too many words to describe and define everything. It has so many scenes in this book, that it is very confusing to keep track of the characters. I bought this book because of the narrator. I Love Scott Brick. But, his foreign language characterization is too muddled. I just HATE this book. I had to skip chapters just to keep from turning off the recording. I hope I can return it.
I was anticipating an exciting story, but the first few chapters were extremely difficult. I was totally disappointed with the characters in the story.
Awesome, captivating, and intriguing.
I really did not like the ending of the book. I really preferred a different ending. But the ending is encouraging me to go on and purchase the sequel.
I was moved by Lacey's, Wolgast, and Peter's love for Amy. Such a true and real experience. I am also intrigued with Alisha's loyalty to Peter and the cause.
This is an awesome book that captured me. I could not work or focus on anything but the book until it was finished. I sat for hours listening to this story. I would lay awake until early morning not wanting to wait until my drive to work trying to see/hear what would happen next. I was trying to wait until my next credit to get the sequel. But have decided to purchase it in a few minutes to see what happens next. I truly hope the next book is as great as this one. I loved the male narrator. Such excitement, sadness, emotions. I was truly within the story.
There are too many stories that it is impossible to keep track of the multiple stories. It is very confusing for me.
