I know this book is meant for adults. However, I shudder to think of some young adult women thinking this may be fun or interesting to try with WRONG CHOICE OF MAN!!
I agree with other listeners about the narrator. She is NOT suited for this book. Editor should have changed some multiple uses of the same words over and over again. I may be sick if I hear "oh my", "hot" or " my sex" EVER again!!

FINALLY!! It's here and it's THE BEST both author and narrator have done. I can't say anything bad about it. I'm loving every second of listening!! THANK YOU!!

This probably could have been a much better book if the narrator was better. I love listening to audio books, but this one was really difficult to get into and stay focused on. This is the only book - from a large library - that I had to be alone in a quiet room to try to follow. I also had a hard time knowing which character was speaking. I couldn't tell the boys for the girls! It certainly wouldn't be a book that I would recommend for a first time listener!

I was afraid I couldn't listen to a book of this length and keep my attention, however, Shantaram has become my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK. Humphrey Bower has an amazing voice and brings all the characters alive and vibrant. I laughed, I cried, I loved. Before I listened to Shantaram I thought Pillars of the Earth was the best book ever (even though the movie was awful), but now I recommend Shantaram to all my reading and listening friends. All around AMAZING!! If there were 10 stars available - I would give it a 10!
