In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October, 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world.

    "No Fiction can match it."
    Overall

Great Story, on a great man.
Any fiction story who would try to match it would be so unreliable.

Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Lillian is his wife -- beautiful, southern-bred, with a core of velvet steel. Without her cool head, her kids would be in real trouble. Ben is the oldest, a born athlete whose best never satisfies the big man. Ben's got to stand up, even fight back, against a father who doesn't give in -- not to his men, not to his wife, and certainly not to his son.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

Warren says: "Tina Fey broke my new SUV"
    "Nice story, not a masterpiece"
    Overall

Usually when i go for best seller, I get overwhelmed with the level of story telling.
Tina Fey is nice, and narrating her book is improving it, but far from BIG book.

Bonny says: "Little Big Horn viewed from the other side"
"OK book on great historic event"
    Overall

for History in general and military history in particular, it is some disappointment
battle and strategy description is very limited, while other parts of the Lakota history is very long, including dictionary that is fairly boring for the listener.

In the Second World War, the United States, Great Britain, and Germany each produced one land-force commander who stood out from the rest: George Patton, Bernard Montgomery, and Erwin Rommel. All were arrogant, publicity seeking, and personally flawed, yet each possessed a genius for command and an unrivaled enthusiasm for combat.

John VandenBrook says: "Excellent ... Patton, Montgomery, Rommel"
"very good book, not easy task to write"
    Overall

Biography is challenging. Trio biographies so tightly told and woven together.
excellent job by the author and narrator.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The best book club you’ve never heard of – but will be eager to join, courtesy of a full cast of true characters. January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she's never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb....

Kent says: "MUCH better than I ever expected! Give it a try!"
    "Good story, interesting story telling"

things are not as simple as presented, and are not all from one point of view.
the "decimal money" did not allow chemistry to develop periodic table...
Qublai Han was not chinese, and paper money was part of a very dramatic changes the Mongols lead the world for, not a thing of its own. reading Gingis Han explains it excellent.
