"Eutopia"
This is the FIRST book I've purchased from Audible that I didn't finish .....I wanted to but it just went on and on a on on and it lost me about 2/3 through. Very different.
"Couldn't even finish!"
I liked the characters in this book and it seemed okay for the first half. At some point this book went berserk and became WAY too Sci Fi for my taste. Just not my cup of tea and gave up somewhere in the second half.
"Another Winner!"
I read Gone Girl quite some time ago and really enjoyed it. I seem to have had a few not so great book choices lately so thought I'd go back and search books by authors I have liked. This book did not disappoint! WOW! Everything about the book is perfect - even though early on I knew "who'd done it" - you were never 100% sure and when all the details come together it was amazing. Highly recommend this and I will be reading Dark Places in the near future!
"WOW!"
I have about 2 hours left and I don't want this book to end! I have no idea what the ending will be - but I decided to write this review because this is the best book I've listened to in ages .... already looking to see what else the author has written! It's been a long time since I was this "into" a book!
Do yourself a favor & spend the credit - you won't regret it!
"The Chaperone"
The best part of this book was the narration by Elizabeth McGovern. Story was just "okay" but Elizabeth was why I finished the book.
"Fabulous Book!"
I can't believe I waited so long to read this book but it was worth the wait. The story brings out so many emotions, it makes you sad then angry, and then you might smile for a moment. I fell in love with Frank and his life and immediately rented the movie but found it to be a fraction of the book. After I finished Angela's Ashes I read it again, making sure I didn't miss anything and then went on to read his next book, 'Tis.
What struck me most about Frank's life is that it was only about 80 years ago when he was born and that there was such poverty in a civilized country. This book makes you feel grateful for so many things.
This book moved me and made me thankful. I thought Frank was perfect as the narrator and couldn't imagine anyone else telling this story. *****
"A good read!"
I like Kate Morton's books and this is a good one. I don't know why but I also like the narrator - something about her voice..... this is an interesting story that is worth reading
"Turn of mind"
This was just so SLOW and very disappointing for me - I plodded on thinking it might get better but it never did ...... BORING!
"Mosaic"
This is an amazing book that is perfectly narrated. The story is captivating and important I'm almost to the end and I want it to go on!
"Fabulous Story!"
This book is super duper long ...... which for me, is a huge plus with an audio book. Once you get going you never want this book to end! This is a lovely book that takes you back in time and is wonderfully written and red. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have now read all of Kate Morton's books and I'm hungry for more!
"The House at Riverton"
.......a bit slow to get started but well worth it in the end. Really good story that you don't want to end!
