The historical perspective and the ties to Moby Dick made it a read that is relatable. Of course, I was a Melville fan in college, but knowing that the basis of the Moby Dick was based on this story captured me.
Probably the captain Pollard, but others were equally brillinat
It went so fast. Never thought I would like this read, but I loved it. One of my best reads this year.
Don't know. I am an audio book fan
Who else but Sarah. She is the story.
Her voice portrayed the strength and emotion of the main character. One of my favorite reads of all time.
I did have a reaction to this book and so this is why I am writing this review. Yes, it made me cry and I mean big ole tears.
I love books that bring strong, warm characters, historical perspectives and facts. This book had it all. One of my all time favorites, can't be missed.
A great story
The characters but most of all the nuances and the social implications. There is so much political and social relevancy that not sure most would know from the title.
I have not, but I just started "Catching Fire" and her performance is equal to that of "Hunger Games"
One of my top favorites along with The Help, 11-22-63, Cutting for Stone and Snowflower and the Secret Fan.
Most interesting was the plot. Great idea but the characters were just too young for me. Probably a great read for a younger reader, I am 57.
Can't really think of one.
Thoroughly enjoyed the narrator in this book. What vivid storytelling! Loved it so much bought the book (hardbound) for my Mom. The characters come alive with this narrator.
Truly loved this book!.
The narrator was spot on and I could picture the little girl growing up before my eyes. I can see why this book was required reading for high school students.
