Bronson Pinchot makes all the difference between a good story and a great listening.
My subway rides became quality time with this audio-book..

and enjoy it.
afterwards, it gets slower and tend to repeat itself.
I listened to the first chapter maybe 4 times: definitely tops the rest.

Overall, a fun experience.

Little slow in the start, but it gets much more interesting and even fascinating on the second half of the book.
The character of the girl and its development along the story makes you want to know more about her.
The story within the story is disgusting, or at least the thought that such things may actually take place even in these moments. Actually, come to think of it, there were a few stories here in the states and in Europe as well that were published in newspapers with atrocities going long for so many years, but this one could really come out from a very creative / sick mind.
I loved it .
Going to buy the other 2 books in the trilogy.

for a University essay or something.
Very slow, the point is understood after chapter one, and one could deliver the message in half the time.

On the up side, I had a couple of very good naps with this one..

I was looking forward to read this book after the great adventures of Stephan King in The Eyes of the Dragon.
However this one is in slow-mo, with break outs to other unrelated sub-stories.
The narrator is doing a decent job, however you wait for something to happen - but nothing ever does, except in the last couple of chapters, and even then there is not much meat there.
Maybe, if you grew up in the south during the 60's - 70's you will relate more.

Even though I LOVE Steve Martin, one of the best comedians ever and creative as one can possibly be, this is a mix of short stories or pieces with no connecting line of which some are nice however most are boring. I think my opinion may have been different if I was seeing it as a stage act.

My first non-finished audio-book.. Sorry Steve, you are great but this one is not.
