Reader's voice was boring. Little excitement in her voice and when she tried to be a male voice it was anything but convincing. Mostly though the story line faded into the background while tid bits not relevant to the story were explored to exhaustion. At times I couldn't remember the story line. Could have done the story in 1/3 the time as most was not needed and not interesting. First time for this author and am not sure I'd try her again.
I found this book to be VERY interesting and like Ponzi thru out the book. I only wish the story was longer. It was a good way to learn about the man, and frankly I liked him very much.
First time with this author. Love the narration by Scott Brick. Story line was good, interesting and kept me listening. Only wish it was longer! Would be fun to see this in a movie. Will order more from this author mainly because Scott Brick does the narration.
Lee Child is a fine author and Dick Hill is easy to listen to. I've read many of these, produced by both of them, and enjoy them. This was no exception. Well worth the listen and well worth the price!
Have never tried this author before but if this is a sample l may just move on to another author more suited to 'legal thrillers.' The author appears to believe that lots of sex and lots of characters make for a more interesting story. Sometimes it's hard to find the 'mystery' because of all the distraction, which also makes the story longer then needs be. In addition, there seems to be a lot of discussion of 'black and white' issues relating to race but not all that related to the actual story line. Could have done without so much sex, race remarks and so many characters.
I didn't realize this was a series as it was my first. However, I will now look for more of the same. Another reader said he tired of the phrase "Reacher said nothing." I have to agree. I laughed everytime I heard it just because of the other persons comments. But hey...the author could have worked a little harder to find a few different phrases. Having said that...I could manage to live with it and found the story well done, interesting and it kept my attention. Well worth the download.
I like Joseph Finder each time I download one of his books and especially when Scott Brick reads them. Looking for more of the same to go with the others I listened to of his (A Company Man, High Crimes). Only problem is many of his books are only 6 or 7 hrs. long and it just isn't worth a full credit for such a short time. Other than that, I'd choose his books any time. Interesting, catchy, well read, endings not expected.
The book was "just ok." I like the author but the story went on too long and wasn't all that believable. This isn't his best. OK for a long drive but won't be one you will remember all that long.
Idea behind the story is a touching one and overall this was a good performance. Lots of feeling and drama. Story is well told and yet sensative. Worth the read/listen.
Story never seems to really get off the ground. No real excitement at any time. Seems to just drag on. Many details not related to the main story add to the slow moving feeling. Must be better options around so try another.
