What would have made Fifty Shades of Grey better?

A different storyline and a new Author!!

Has Fifty Shades of Grey turned you off from other books in this genre?

I will NEVER recommend ANYTHING written by E L James.. WHAT A JOKE!

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

ANGER!!!!! What is all the fuss about with these books??? This is probably the most POORLY written book I've ever read! Seriously.. Someone buy this author a Thesaurus!! If I read the words "Oh My" or "Down There" or "Holy Cow" one more time, I may go off the deep end. I'm not against erotica, either... But there was NOTHING hot or attractive about any of the repetitive sex scenes in this book. I'm so ANGRY that I wasted hours of my life listening to this CRAP!!!

    Any additional comments?

These books are for the simple-minded housewife who doesn't get enough attention from her husband... Anyone who recommends these books should be embarrassed.

It's up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test. What Wicked doesn't know is that something's happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can't believe a word of what Wicked says. The time for lies is over.

Solving the Maze was supposed to be the end. No more puzzles. No more variables. And no more running. Thomas was sure that escape meant he and the Gladers would get their lives back. But no one really knew what sort of life they were going back to. In the Maze, life was easy... until Teresa triggered the end. In the world outside the Maze, however, the end was triggered long ago. Burned by sun flares and baked by a new, brutal climate, the earth is a wasteland....

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

The totalitarian East has triumphed in a massive invasion, and the United States has fallen to a dictatorial superpower bent on total domination. That power is consolidating its grip through concentration camps, police state tactics, and a total monopoly upon the very thoughts of the conquered populace. A tiny enclave of scientists and soldiers survives, unbeknownst to America’s new rulers. It’s six against six million - but those six happen to include a scientific genius, a master of subterfuge and disguise who learned his trade as a lawyer-turned-hobo, and a tough-minded commander....

If you're into books like Stephen King's "The Stand" or J Cronin's "Passage" or "The Twelve".. then don't waste your time... this book pales in comparison.. weak story line.. pitiful ending.. there is not depth to this book. I wish I hadn't wasted a credit on it...

Where does The Twelve: A Novel rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Great book. Cronin has the ability to put me in the story... The Twelve is great.. drags a little in some areas, but still a great read. If it's been a while since you read The Passage, I definitely recommend re-reading it (or at least skimming through) before you start this... Otherwise, you may get a little lost with some of the characters (since there are so many!!). Narrator does a great job as well.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book drags on and on... It was hard to get through.. partially because of the depressing story, but mostly because of the narration.. He could put anyone to sleep!!!
