"A Really Good Story"
I thought the plot was terrific. Even the most reliable of friends became a suspect by the end of the story.
I wasn't crazy about Katherine Kellgren. (Do people really talk with over the top posh accents like that?)
I was intrigued by the premise of the nobility during the depression. Broke but unable to work because of peer pressure. I almost didn't finish the listen because of the reader, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I'll probably listen to more in the series. The plot was really good and I liked the lead character. She was independent and had spunk. The romantic touches were nice without being over the top. All in all, a good listen.
"A Terrific Listen"
James Bond stories are always exciting and fun to listen to, but what I really loved was the character, Honey Child, and her relationship with James Bond.
I loved Honey Child especially. Her street smarts along with her innocence were charming. Simon Vance gave a really believable presentation of her character.
This is the first James Bond novel I've ever listened to. I thought the characters were presented so much better than in the movie, and the plot was exciting.
"A Great, Great Listen!"
I have always loved the Joanna Brady series. There are always great and realistic characters and plots. Stephanie Brush IS Joanna Brady. This is a great story, and read perfectly.
"A Terrific Listen"
I especially enjoyed the young adult characters. They really made the book for me.
There was a lot of mystery about why everything was happening; and you didn't find out until right at the end what was driving the story.
This was the first Rizzoli and Isles book I have listened to. I've seen the TV series though. I'm going to continue to listen to these because the characters, the plotting and the writing is so good.
"Excellent Listen"
Interesting characters (both good and bad!), romance, a good mystery.
She gets the characters just right and brings the era to life. Very pleasant listen.
I love the way the romance was handled. You pulled for them, and I loved hating the "bad guy". Patricia Wentworth is an excellent writer. This book is very much along Agatha Christie lines. A terrific listen.
"A Really Fun Book and Series"
These are a really entertaining series of books and this one is no exception. Barbara Rosenblat does a terrific job of reading and Mrs. Pollifax is a great character.
This old lady kicks butt! A very entertaining character, intelligent, creative and likeable. These books are like candy. I'm going to listen to every one of them.
"An Entertaining Listen???but painful!"
The main character, like most of the rest of his family (excluding one of his sisters), has so many flaws that you just want to cringe! But all in all a terrific book. I figured out "who done it" early on, but the depth of characterization kept my attention and I ended up just feeling compassion for everyone. Such a dysfunctional family! My, my! But oh what a listen!
"I loved it!"
Two great characters, one a free spirit, one an uptight and social conservative join together to discover what happened to the body on the beach. A fun, wonderful listen. My only complaint is that the reader could have slowed down a bit, but that didn't spoil the listen for me. Many of the locals are funny without knowing they are and that adds to the enjoyment of the book. I'm definitely going to be listening to more of these Feathering mysteries. A great cozy. Highly recommended.
"Hard to Hear"
I felt there was too much reverb in the recording levels making it difficult to understand without paying a lot of careful attention.
