It's the summer of 1879, and Annie Fuller, a young San Francisco widow, is in trouble. Annie's husband squandered her fortune before committing suicide, and to pay off a debt, one of his creditors is now threatening to take the boardinghouse she owns. Annie also has a secret. She supplements her income by giving domestic and business advice as Madam Sibyl, one of San Francisco's most exclusive clairvoyants, and one of her clients has died. The police believe his death was suicide, but Annie believes he was murdered.

What did you love best about Maids of Misfortune: A Victorian San Francisco Mystery?

I really enjoyed this story, nt only was it well written but the performance by Cynthia Wallace was outstanding and added to the enjoyment. Annie/Madam Sibyl was wonderful, I love how independent, strong, loving and hard working she was. She was definitely ahead of her times. Matthew Voss started out as being percieved as almost perfect to real human being and only in death is he understood. Nate Dawson was so funny, how he kept trying to stop Annie from investigating and how he kept trying to protect. Ending up with im falling in love with her and supporting her in every way.

What did you like best about this story?

The dialogue betwen annie and Nate is was so funny.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the picnic on the beach ending in the discovery of the body.

    Any additional comments?

Not what I would normally chose to listen to or read, but I am glad I did, I really liked it!!!

Commander Mark Bishop is deliberately low-key: "I'm in the Navy." But commanding the ballistic missile submarine USS Nevada, keeping her crew trained and alert during 90-day submerged patrols, and being prepared to launch weapons on valid presidential orders, carries a burden of command like few other jobs in the military. Mark wants someone to come home to after sea patrols. The woman he has in mind is young, with a lovely smile, and very smart. She's a civilian, yet she understands the U.S. Navy culture.

What did you love best about Little Shop of Homicide?

This was a wonderful comedy, romance, suspense story. I know it seems a strange combination but it really works and I loved it.

Have you listened to any of Maia Guest’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I thought that Maia did a great job as narrator, it was very easy to tell who was speaking and she did male and female voice's equally well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh but not cry, it caused frustration and several times I found myself holding my breathe.

    Any additional comments?

    This was a great story.

Would you listen to What's in a Name? again? Why?

    Yes, it was very riveting!

What did you like best about this story?

I really loved this audible book. You have Kelli, KC or Emily depending on where you are the story who is an awesome female character. Strong, intelligent and able to think on her feet. The you have Blake Windsor normally an alpha male with his own strengths but who has been knocked for a loop, literally. Amazing what a concussion can do for you.

I love a good romantic suspense and this was one of the best. I just love it when I don't figure it out, I had a slight suspicion but nothing concrete.

Listen and read this book you will love it.

What does Pamela Almand and The Captain's Voice bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She really brings the characters alive and gives them each their own unique voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Definitely!
