This one was too predictable throughout the story. It made Sophie appear to be a complete idiot. The amount of whining was unbelievable. There were so many times I was so tempted to stop listening, but I enjoy the series and kept thinking it would get better. This one was way off the mark.
Gabra Zackman has done a wonderful job with this series, but she seemed as off as the story did. Maybe the amount of whining was getting to her, too.
I'll try the next one and hope for the best. If you've never read any of the series, don't start with this one. Start from the beginning.
I'm surprised at the reviews on the narration of this book. The narrator sounds like he's reading a textbook. The book is very interesting but I have to keep stopping and listening to something else because he's about to put me to sleep. I almost think I would have enjoyed this book more if I read it as opposed to listened to it. The story is fascinating and should not come across as a history book which is what the audible version sounds like.
Fast Women started off a little slow to the point where I actually stopped listening for a few days. I started back with it and it suddenly was interesting and fun. I thoroughly enjoyed listening each day going to and from work. I actually looked forward to the drive.
The storyline was a little far fetched but it was intriguing. The narrator spoiled it somewhat to me. Her voices did not truly fit the characters. It was somewhat distracting. I think a different narrator would make a huge difference in this particular story.
Overall, though, it was a fun book that was well worth purchasing.
