"Another Hit"
Burke is one of the most descriptive writers I have ever read. I have read and listened to nearly all of his books. When he teams up with Will Patton there is no better listening experience. Kudos to both the writer and the narrator.
"Sandford's "Virgil Flowers" is a great series."
Sandford & Conger together are nearly unbeatable. Great inflecctive narration with an equally good story.
Virgil doesn't know "all". The aurtor does an outstanding job of making the reader want to help Virgil solve the crime.
Always "Top Drawer"
Light humorous moments between Virgil and the ladies.
"Child has lost it."
I have read nearly all Child's books and they continue to go down hill. I keep reading them in hopes the old Child will return. No such luck on this one. I waited to read how other readers were rating this book and finnaly gave it a shot. SORRY! Poor Narrator also! Do not waist a Credit or your money.... FlagAmerica
"One of the Burke's best"
Burke is one of the most descriptive writers I have ever read. I have read and listened to nearly all of his books. When he teams up with Will Patton there is no better listening experience. Kudos to both the writer and the narrator.
"GREAT LISTEN"
Listened to this book on an 850 mile car journey. Loved every minute of it. Made the trip time seem to cut in half
"Water for Elephants"
A GREAT read and even better Audible story. My teen aged Grandchildren loved it also.
"The Tin Roof Blowdown"
Another outstanding book narrated by an equally outstanding reader. Burke & Patton are synonymous with terms like "Great Book", "Wonderful Listen", and so on. Some insight to New Orleans after Katrina. I've both read and listened to the Audible version. Both were GREAT.
"Bitterroot"
James Lee Burke is one of my favorite authors. He doesn't write anything that's bad. Will Patton is SOOOOO good it is no wonder he had narrated most of Burke's Books. Great Listen
"Alas, Babylon"
Not much. Story is weak and drags on and on. I'm sorry I bought it.
"The Good Soldiers"
Just a great book on Iraq and the frustration and craziness of the American commitment there. An excellent description of the Loss and Toll taken on our soldiers. Listen To IT!
