I enjoyed Jake being woven into the story at just the right times. The Brie leading lady is the books focus and is also a good character
I Listened to Angel Eyes and she was excellent in both books. I hope a number three performance for her is upcoming. The narrator keeps you listening if they are good.
Visions of Heaven
This one is it had a bad moment was that I expected more of the heavenly battle scene. Michael is introduced and described and when the battle comes where is he ? The Brie scenes dragged a little more in this book than had been the case in Angel eyes. The book kept my attention and I wish it had ended a little later. Hopefully there will be one more story on the way to Audible.
Really captivating story
When all looked lost a mine saves the day
Can not accurately describe how good of a job he did bringing this one to life.
This was the first fictional book out of my last ten that I just had to stay with and listened to it over a day and a half. The characters were inter woven well. Other than the expected Tre bravery at a key moment, the author kept me wondering what would happen next. I liked the style of making each character become the lead player at a moment in time. Overall a audible purchase of this book will not make anyone thing they made a bad choice.
I have enjoyed their work together.
I just think there are better choices than this one
the entire series is just darn good. Every time I finish one the next book is eagerly awaited.
Marster's makes the stories go. The one book he missed was a real setback so hopefully he is able to do whatever follows.
Butcher has a way of introducing aspects in his characters that you might not see as likely as the story is in motion. Without giving too much away we seemed to have added a new knight who has come up through the ranks and grown more in each book.
It is a good combination and hopefully the next on gas more substance to it.
To muck of the female druid that was not as entertaining
I especially liked the banter back and forth between Atticus and his hound, It was funny
no movie for this version
It was an average book and there are for sure better woks on Audible to chose from.
The narrator is what kept me involved. I suspect that I might have taken a very long time to complete the reading of a print version. I did not feel the author broke any new ground and he just spent more time with shotguns blazing.
I have listened to hundreds of audio books. This one is in the top ten percent.
He reads the book at a fast pace which is exactly what is needed to keep the listener in all the way.
I personally like the style the author uses. He weaves off the point intentionally and then pops back in at exactly the right time. Great job.
His style is better that not quite a monotone. Had the book kept my interest my view of the narrator might have changed
I was disappointed in this effort by Turow. It almost seemed to me that a book was due where he could make a few bucks. I felt he got away from his base of having an attornet represent a client well.
I typically never listen to a book twice but this time I might make an exception. The length of this book ( every minute enjoyable ) is the only reason not to do it over.
This Stone Wall Jackson was clearly the greatest Civil War General. He made mistakes but all of the leaders did. Communications or the lack of them were often at fault. As a kid I read all of the Civil War stuff that I could get my hands on. Jackson's leadership abilities can not be understated. I was moved by the way the author portrayed Jackson's final days.
Cotter Smith was the perfect performer for this wonderful novel. Everyone should listen to this one. Why not get educated about Civil War history. Our kids know nothing about our past as the schools are failing to let all everywhere learn about America. You will be glad you listened to this book when it ends.
The last sentence surprised me as I never saw it coming.
In this book time sometimes jumped ahead which to me left small gaps. Overall the story was well constructed. I think it only fair to mention that I am a fan of Megan Kelly and bought the book because of her interview with her husband. It was a good choice.
I never re-listen to a book so the answer is No.
I expected all along that 8 would open his eyes again. I liked the way it was done
All of the narrators did their usual good job.
I thought Adam taking out his dad and then supporting the cast was written well.
I was not ready for the book to end and so I will be ready for the next installment. I hope it comes out sooner rather than later.
