something for everyone
He brings every character to stunning life
It had humor, action, developed characters and romance. I will wait for book 2 and hope it comes out in a hurry.
I have enjoyed lots of Audible offerings but only a few have kept me listening so that I did not want to turn on the TV. I just wanted to see how the book proceeding racing toward an unknown finish.
It kept me wanting to find out how much trouble the main character was in and how he would escape.
I listened to the first Gray Man novel and I liked it so I went on to purchase all 4 books that are out and I have enjoyed all of the performances.
Sometimes the author stays in the same place too long in all four books but the way the action unfolds keeps you hooked.
Dr. Kimmel's writing makes you feel like you are along with him as he explores the Southern US and the Caribbean while boating. You get to be with him to enjoy success and you feel for him as the mechanical failures keep happening. He describes the costs associated with boating which sound unpredictable. Boats cost too much, require a lot of repair, can strand you almost anywhere and bring a tear to your eye when they sink.
He writes that the happiest day for a boater is when you buy a new boat and the second happiest day is when you sell it. After listening to the book, I believe the author would do it all over in a heartbeat. The boat repair business sounds like a industry designed to allow the repairer to profit at a boat owners great expense. The repairers seem to promise prompt service and then do not deliver it. At one point the author measures the speed of a repair based on how many times the repairers eyes blink. If you like boating then you expect the pitfalls.
Dr. Kimmel describes each stop on his journey. A true boater sticks with his plan and the author does that and enjoys the fruits of his efforts. I feel like I am richer for what I now know about places I will never likely see. I never expected that I would listen to a book like this one but I began it because of the Narrator, Joshua Bennington. I have listened to his work on the book Adjuster Stories and he has the perfect voice to keep your interest. He did not disappoint me and I look forward to listening to him again.
In a word---" Everything"
Take a chance like I did and you will enjoy the journey.
A interesting lead character keeps my interest
He does a good job narrating . I liked the way Earl's voice was used even if it was just briefly.
I listened to the last 4 hours at one and gave up a TV night to finish the story.
It is nice that the Lawyer makes mistakes just like real people do everyday.
The escape from Hell was too long. A reader wants to know how the story turns out and it just took a long time to find out
Excellent as always
I give it a 3 out of 4
There has to be a third book to wrap the series up. I would like to see more conflicts from Heaven and the hopefully good outcome on the forbidden romance.
This is not a Lee Child book but it is not trying to be one. The references to the 6'5" Jack Reacher and the last impression from the book were fine.
I liked the intelligence of the main character. Her part was well written. It is always interesting to see how the case is figured out. Her number 2 character also contrasted well with the leads style.
Hazen as one reviewer stated started of in a robotic form but as I listened I thought she did a decent job with the material.
There are millions of Lee Child readers. I could see this one being produced. Who would have ever pictured little Tom Cruise being cast as Reacher in last years movie. Probably no one. The movie was decent even with him playing the lead. With the right lead this one works.
When this one ended I hoped there would be a second book.
Uniquely talented actor
He kept my attention
If I had had the time perhaps I might have tried but the book was too long
I always enjoyed Stewarts skills. The book helped me get to know the person. I have found few actors I enjoyed more over the years.
The whole series of Andy books should be heard by all. I would recommend this book to all of the Audible Universe.
Actually it took me two days to finish listening. The plot, characters, language as pronounced by the narrator were outstanding. Andy never gets old.
I can not wait for the next book.
As soon as a new book is released I immediately wait for the next one. I have always been pleased with the characters moving in and out of the chapters. I don't know how the author keeps everything moving like he does. Maybe submarines are coming soon as the alliance keeps coming up with new weapons. The torpedo was a game changer in this one.
So in a word, YES I recommend this book and it would be a shame that an avid reader has not started getting to know the characters from the first moment of the first book.
I like Silva. He keeps coming into each story when a light or serious moment is needed.
He does a great job and is clearly the voice of the series.
Yes. I finished it in 4 days. I love a long book when it is so interesting.
I wonder what devious plans the Japanese Admiral will come up with next. It is hard to imagine that in a real society that this guy would not have been executed or ended his life himself. He just suffered one heck of a pasting.
I would not tell anyone this one is a must listen
The Gray Man
It has some possible merit for TV
The narration was very good
I liked how the characters weaved in and out. I was not surprised of the relationship the leads developed. I thought the addition of the sound effects made the story better as did using two narators.
Always pretty well done
No to either question but it did keep me interested and I finished it in two days which is unusual for me.
