Few fish are as beloved, or as obsessed over, as the American shad. Although shad spend most of their lives in salt water, they enter rivers by the hundreds of thousands in the spring and swim upstream heroic distances in order to spawn, then return to the ocean.

    Cynthia says: "mixed thoughts"

    Overall

McPhee at his absolute best! American Shad at its absolute best. Spell binding tale of the mastery
needed to hook American Shad, you WILL be hooked, even if you don't have the habit of fishing. If you
do have the habit, and you do have the good fortune
to hunt for The American Shad, these tales will make you wiser and crazier about the American Shad in our coastal waters. Good Luck

The third book in the Mary Russell–Sherlock Holmes series. It is 1923. Mary Russell Holmes and her husband, the retired Sherlock Holmes, are enjoying the summer together on their Sussex estate when they are visited by an old friend, Miss Dorothy Ruskin, an archeologist just returned from Palestine.

Would you consider the audio edition of A Letter of Mary: A Novel of Suspense Featuring Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes to be better than the print version?

That's not a fair question. Prefer to compare one reader to another reader. I do not hear that Audible understands this, OR they should constantly remind those of us that an excellent narrator-performer produces an extension of the story, another layer to the art form.

What did you like best about this story?

It is what I like best about Laurie King. She can tell as good a story as A.C.Doyle. She has expanded Sherlock, a seamless connection of the two authors.

Not so very long ago, Eragon - Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider - was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders. months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can.
