I "read" this for my book club with bn and it was a good read. I'm very glad that I purchased the audio book, otherwise this story could have gotten away from me. The story is winding in some places and the narrator did a weird whispery voice for Zoya, but the guy voices were really good and I was quite amused by the character of Brandon.
I least liked the "witches songs" as they confused me and I lost the thread of what was going on in the story through that bit, but they weren't overtly long and didn't ruin the story.
This short yet sweet story ranks high in my collection, mostly because the narrator brings the story to life.
This story wouldn't be the same without the narrator. Sure the story is great, but seriously...Amanda Ronconi just gets it.
This story makes me laugh.
simple yet engaging story, narrator really does a great job pulling you in and leading you through the story
Yes, I've listened to Ender's Game already, and after listening to Ender's Shadow, I can really see different sides of the characters that I hadn't seen in Ender's Game. Now I need to re read Ender's Game and then give another listen to Ender's Shadow.
The narrators are just great, emotions and everything. It's like watching a movie with your eyes closed.
Great story, but definitely preview before you buy....I really don't care to listen to this narrator for too long
This book is a great version of Beauty and the Beast set in modern time. Chat rooms and hints at fairy tales along with teenage life brings a new flare to this classic tale.
