And that doesn't hurt the story-telling at all.
Fine mystery and suspense woven around real characters of the period. A peek at a society not so different from ours. In the best tradition of Falco and Gordianus. (Whose stories I wish were here too)
The cast enlarged the characters. It was a great listen. Heinlein wrote wonderful dialogue. A lesson of ethics and morals from RAH at his best!
I'd like to hear much more from this audio producer. Enjoy the 'radio-play' style.
Weaves technological, military, medical, political, labor and environmental history into a very cogent story. First rate! The narration and sound quality are excellent too.
I confess that the negative reference to National Public Radio (NPR) peaked my interest. The timeline of events is at most tedious, while compelling. The sound quality is very good.
It is excellent story-telling at how we've arrived to this day. Not a leisure listen: but a controversy of thought and reflection. An exercise of the mind.
Ms. Imrie's reading of this excellent novel is more in the way of a bedtime story..for children of all ages. Listen cuddled up in the dark at night. Then Ms. Imrie's voice will carry you to the never, never.
