Precious Ramotswe has taken on two puzzling cases. First, she is approached by the lawyer Mma Sheba, who is the executor of a deceased farmer’s estate. Mma Sheba has a feeling that the young man who has stepped forward may be falsely impersonating the farmer’s nephew in order to claim his inheritance. Mma Ramotswe agrees to visit the farm and find out what she can about the self-professed nephew. Then the proprietor of the Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon comes to Mma Ramotswe for advice.

What did you like best about The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon? What did you like least?

Always a pleasure to head back to Botswana and I was immediately engaged in the tale. When it ended, I thought there must be some mistake, I double checked that it had downloaded correctly! It's one thing to solve the "mysteries" and another to just talk about solving them--which is what the novel did. It seemed like the last two chapters must be missing.

Would you recommend The Minor Adjustment Beauty Salon to your friends? Why or why not?

No, although I loved it while it lasted, I am still frustrated by the lack of resolution and abrupt ending.

Night Navigation opens on a night of freezing rain in upstate New York - the kindling gone, the fire in the woodstove out. Del’s 37-year-old manic-depressive son, Mark, needs a ride, but she is afraid to make the long drive north to the only detox that has a bed. Through the four seasons, Night Navigation takes us into the deranged, darkly humorous world of the addict - from break-your-arm dealers to boot-camp rehabs to Rumi quoting NA sponsors.

What would have made Night Navigation better?

I honestly thought a chapter had been left out at the end, if not two. It was just over, that really changed the rating I would have given this book. In terms of a book of addiction, codependency and love--I thought it was doing a great job. But it......stopped.

What was most disappointing about Neil Gaiman’s story?

I was intrigued, but it felt like the author just cut the story short. Where is the rest of it?

Doc Ebersole lives with the ghost of Hank Williams—not just in the figurative sense, not just because he was one of the last people to see him alive, and not just because he is rumored to have given Hank the final morphine dose that killed him.

In The Newlyweds, we follow the story of Amina Mazid, who at age twenty-four moves from Bangladesh to Rochester, New York, for love. A hundred years ago, Amina would have been called a mail-order bride. But this is an arranged marriage for the twenty-first century: Amina is wooed by - and woos - George Stillman online. For Amina, George offers a chance for a new life and a different kind of happiness than she might find back home. For George, Amina is a woman who doesn’t play games.

What disappointed you about The Newlyweds?

The characters were, at the same time, dishonest and self-righteous. I kept waiting for them to change, but they got worse.

Has The Newlyweds turned you off from other books in this genre?

    Not at all.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Mozhan Marno?

Yes, she did a good job switching from American to Bangladesh characters.

What character would you cut from The Newlyweds?

The husband, the father, the cousin....most of them!

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The words obdurate and harmonic are overused.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Interesting, but I was so ready to be done already.....

Katniss Everdeen continues to struggle to protect herself and her family from the Capitol in this second novel from the best-selling Hunger Games trilogy.

"Not as good as the first..."
    Overall

I was so excited to listen to this book after The Hunger Games, what a disappointment. Predictable, no character growth, Katniss' martyrdom is tiring. In the first book, I was hoping to find out what was occuring back in District 12, or in the capitol, while Katniss and Peeta were in the arena. This element would have added depth to this book. It is hard to root for Gael, when you don't get to know him. I had to force myself to finish this...
