Like her bold ancestors, Echo couldn't ignore a challenge. A sure hand with a horse, a dead shot with a rifle, and fast with her wits, Echo traveled to the mountains of Tennessee, coming up against ruthless killers who'd stop at nothing to cheat her of her inheritance.

What made the experience of listening to Ride the River the most enjoyable?

First female lead character. Like all Sacketts, Echo is more than she appears to be.

What other book might you compare Ride the River to and why?

Sackett's Land, for the theme of swindlers attempting to cheat the main character occurs in both books.

What about Jamie Rose’s performance did you like?

I could see in my mind the books contents as if watching a movie.

If you could take any character from Ride the River out to dinner, who would it be and why?

The old attorney who was friend with Echo's grandfather.

The book was just too brief . . . I didn't want it to end.

Would you listen to Sackett's Land again? Why?

Yes and I have done so twice already. First I read the saga, then purchased the volumes one by one on cassette. Now I am buying the digital audio book.

Escape from the a bully lord. The running recollection of Barnabas' father's teaching.

Difficult to put down. Once finished the next story is quickly begun.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book, because I experienced something very similar in real life. The story might be fiction, but not what the story is about.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Piercing the Darkness?

When Sally Roe came to place her trust in Jesus.

Have you listened to any of Kevin Foley’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It is extreemly challenging (I don't know how they do it) to have one person do all the voice parts, male and female characters to the entire story. Sometimes the listener's idea of what a character should sound like, isn't the same as the performer's. This was so for me on the characters who were the Pastor and Christian School Principle. I picture them differently.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.

What made the experience of listening to This Present Darkness the most enjoyable?

The story though fiction was for me reality. A joy to know which side wins!

What did you like best about this story?

The concern of God for his people. The story as seen by angels.

What does Jack Sondericker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice and storytelling skills drew the listener into the tale.

If you could rename This Present Darkness, what would you call it?

For the Saints of God and for the LAMB

    Any additional comments?

I first read this book in 1989 followed by its sequel. Like a dream, my life experiences were reenacted through the storyline. Since then I have read the two books about every three years. This is the first time I have listened to them. Doing so has not lessened the experience or imagination so much apart of reading.

A true story as exhilarating as a great spy thriller, as turbulent as today's headlines from the Middle East, A Time to Betray reveals what no other previous CIA operative's memoir possibly could: the inner workings of the notorious Revolutionary Guards of Iran, as witnessed by an Iranian man inside their ranks who spied for the American government.

When the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled - and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart. Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The Druid order is threatened.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I seldom recommend books. Like movies, they tend to be personal.

Would you be willing to try another book from Terry Brooks? Why or why not?

Yes, I have been following Terry since The Elfstones of Shannara was published. As long as he lives and writes, and I live and listen, I will be purchasing his works.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Not as well as other audible stories he has had published.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    No.

    Any additional comments?

This is the first book of Terry's that I wondered whether he had a "ghost writer" helping him. The druids were cast as less than capable, the heroes unspectacular, the elves less than intelligent. The story didn't seem be coming from the same writer.
