"What a good listen!"
I wanted a good but fun story to listen to. I found it with this audio book. Although targeted to young teens...and I am hardly a teen...it was a good listen for people who enjoy a little fantasy, history, and a bit of sarcasm!
I really enjoyed the story - full of action, wit and some really over-the-top voices for certain characters. It was great. The narrators were enjoyable and I could envision the two teen heroes of the story. I am looking forward to the next book.
"Good story, but..."
What the h***! Where is the rest of the book? I am disappointed particularly when I started to really enjoy the story. If this is the type of "cliffhanger" these books are...I'd rather not listen to the book at all. The female narrator's voice was the equivalent of nails on a chalkboard because she made the female character so whiny. I've given the story 3 stars only because of the story line. What a waste of a credit. >:(
"Oh...what a good book"
I enjoyed listening to this book. The readers were just great with the variations used for each character. The author's writing was wonderful. I couldn't wait to hear the ending. Of course, you'll know that the "bad" characters didn't totally win in the end, but what an exciting story.
"Good story, but..."
The story was good, but the reader almost killed it for me. There is a lack of emotion in the reading although the characters were clearing defined in voice, something was missing. I wonder if the reader is used to doing non-romanace stories because his voice is great, but not for a romance. As far as the story, Nora Roberts does it again. I think I'll purchase the book and read if for myself.
"Couldn't wait for the wrap up!"
I wanted to listen to this book because I liked some of the other books in this series. So regardless of the reviews, I jumped in anyway. OMG, I couldn't wait for it to end. By the 2nd half, I was so sick of hearing "What does that mean?" There were parts of the story that kept my attention, but it was hard getting past the idiot heroine. I have to agree to another reviewer that the author made her "silly" to put herself in constant danger for love. Once, maybe twice, but throughout the whole story! Three stars for overall story but you'll need patience to make it to the end.
"Loved IT!"
I have listened to the audio version of the two previous books in this series and couldn't wait for the final book to be released. As soon as I saw it listed here, I snagged it immediately. The conclusion was just as excellent as the first 2 books. I couldn't stop listening with "and then what happened next" type of anticipation. What a good story and characters! Oh, the reader was good also =)
"I really enjoyed it!"
Initially, I wasn't sure about this story. Seemed okay reading the synopsis, but this actually a good story. The reader was excellent with the sound and emotion behind her voices. The story was fun, romantic, and emotional (the scene with the child got me a little teary-eyed). I've listened to this story twice so far. It's not heavy reading (listening), there are no BIG cases to solve or murders committed. It's an enjoyable love story with a heart!
"Some parts are just a little Boring"
Okay...this is probably the longest 12 hours I have experienced so far while listening to this audiobook. The erotic scenes were indeed hot, but the story / characters just lagged in too many places. The family sub-stories were irritating and felt like filler. Overall, I liked the main characters, but the men seemed a little weak to me. I'd have to think twice before I purchase another book from this author.
"A book worth listening to!"
I am a new member. I normally just read the book - this is my 3rd time "listening" to an audiobook. The reader was great! A little odd to hear a man attempting female voices - kinda like Travolta in the new version of "Hairspray" or Nathan Lane in "Birdcage" - but you get used to it and can easily identify the characters in the story with the changes in his voice. So well in fact, I could just as easily imagine reactions, scenery, character types, etc. Of course, Nora Roberts is an excellent story teller. I can not wait to "read" Book 2 and the coming third book in this series. Okay Audible.com...I'm hooked.
