The characters are pretty fun, the narrator is wonderful. The women are by and large good people with messed up decisions or circumstances. But you know, they're all fairly likeable and it's fun to hear how they get in and out of trouble. While predictable it's still a fun book to listen to.
I'm pretty sure this could be a good story but the narrator was so horrible it was painful to get through.
Sarcasm is good with characters most of the time but when every sentence comes across that way it gets old very quickly and I've never hated hearing a name as much as I hate hearing her say "Rick".
Apparently she doesn't understand the use of punctuation or how to change any aspect of her voice to distinguish between characters. I liked the second book very much but after having listened to the first 20 minutes of book, I don't know that I will purchase any of the others unless the other narrator is far better!
These books make me smile and I cannot imagine anyone else narrating the Plum series.
I haven't read or listened to a bad Jennifer Crusie book, ever. I love how there is a pet of some sort in every one and the pet has the heart and the good folks always love the pets.
I truly wish there were more of her books because I think I've read or listened to them all!
The narrator is wonderful too.
The story really is pretty cute, fun and light and written well enough to draw the listener into the characters if you can get past the narration. She's horrible with pauses and breaks in the wrong places throws the rhythm of the entire book off.
I'm a series addict and it's killing me to not purchase the audible versions of the other two but I won't be. I'll get the actual book or Kindle version.
There are moments when the main character seems really immature and then others where he's really impressive so that sometimes throws the listener for a loop. He's not the typical military hero type, he's flawed (typical), a bit immature but he's funny.
Not great, pretty annoying actually even for a non-thinking book but not bad enough to return.
The one liners cracked me up and made me laugh throughout. Some of the characters are a bit annoying but I can't help but want to know more what happened later!
Absolutely love almost all of Jennifer Crusie's books and loved that this was a follow up to Temptation. I wish more of her books had a sequel, her character development always makes me want to know what happened to them after!
The narrator was fun to listen to as well and that always helps a great book be even better.
It's not a great book but I did enjoy it and I liked the development of characters. Because it's a series I'll most certainly listen or read the others to see what happens to them and how the main characters handle their parents abadonment.
