Megan Hart is a master. She knows how to weave a story that features real characters who love and live.. but also suffer and cry. Their lives are far from easy. In fact most are painful, but the author finds a way to explore their deepest secrets with beauty and grace. She helps the reader find the light even in the darkest circumstances. Don't we all need a little of that? Hope? I plan to download everything Hart writes. "Dirty" is Elle's story, but the title is deceiving. She is far from dirty. That's just how her mother's critcism and her abusive past make her feel. She is a woman with emotional scars (like so many of us) and she is trying to find a way to let go of the past and trust. If you like the story, listen to "Broken" because there you'll find out more about what happens to Elle. Don't listen to the critics that focus on use of the "F" word or the sex scenes. If you are squeamish about those sort of things, don't buy this selection. If you need a little hope, a little excitement, a lots of love this is for you!

I agree the beginning of the listen was painful. The author takes a long time to introduce all the characters and pick up the pace, but stick with it because you'll be rewarded with a spelling binding story. Unfortunately, you have to get through the first dull part until you meet the most interesting character, Lisbeth Salander. She is the girl with the tatoo and pack of secrets that will keep you guessing. The story takes off at that point. She is one of the richest characters you can imagine.
The story is potpouri of intrige. Take crime, abuse, revenge, jouranlistic ethics, finance, computer hancking, sex, lies, and even video tape and this is it! Soon you'll forget those first slow moments. It is set is Sweden so you get a peak at another culture on top of an unforgetable drama.
This is not for the romantic. It is far from an escape novel. This book is a brain stretcher that will haunt you long after you put it down.
P.S. The narrator is a genius!

I adored this story. I am an adoptive parent who knows how it feels to totally love your children without any reservations despite the fact that they didn't come didn't come from my own body. They come from my soul. Larkin understands this relationship and portrays it beautifully in this touching yet funny story about Pippa Dunn. I realize my own son and daughter may go on a similar souling searching journey at some point in their ives. Larkin added another intereting layer to the search for "who am I?". Her character also has the burden of the tug of war with the British and American parts of her personality. The story is priceless. There's fun look at the differenced between the two cultures. I highly reccomend the audiobook for any parent or child.. adopted or not. I hated for the story to end, but I was thrilled that it concluded with a romantic happy ending. Larkin's performance was wonderful too.

Sadly, I kept falling asleep while listening to this and couldn't stay with it. I appreciate the story. I think it was well written. I liked the concept very much, but I am an avid audio book person who listens to books everynight. I've never had one put me to sleep repeated and this one did. That says something.

This story left me on my knees in tears. It was so moving. It is a beautiful story made so much more meaningful because it is true. I makes you look at the world and the people around you differently. If you are looking for inspiration, you'll find it here.

I love Megan Hart's work, so I ate up this story. Like other reviewers, I wish there was more. Maybe she'll write a follow up. The highway fantasy is one I think many of us have!

Like I heard before reading Twlight, it is one of those books you can't put down or in this case turn off. I'm a 47 year old woman who reads a lot of contemporary romance, so I liked the plot, characters, and the delivery even though I normally wouldn't pick up a story about vampires. However, I did think it was a little junveile for adult tastes. The story is truely a metaphor for forbidden love, but without much sex. I would highly reccomend this for young readers. Edward, the vampire, is drawn to the new girl at school because of her purity and kindness. She has moved to a small town to live with her father in part because her mother doesn't have time for her. She discovers Edward has super powers that rival her law enforcement father's powers to serve and protect. Edward is dangerous yet beautiful. She seems to chip away his cold, granite like, exterior and find something warm and worthy inside. It is strange to say a story about vampires is sweet, but this one is and it will leave you hungry or should I say thristy for more.

I'll admit I love anything by Lori Foster, but this has got to be one of the best. I stayed up all night listening to Mick's story. The narrator was perfect. You feel as if you are in Mick's head. You fall in love as he falls in love with the mysterious and lovely Delia. Is she a liar? Is she a thief? Is she the woman of his dreams despite her faults? This story was so hot it left me hungry for more. I actually listened to the best parts over and over. It is a sexy romance, and a fast paced thriller all rolled into one. Listen to the first chapter and I promise you'll get caught up in it too.

Funny, sexy, fun! No one does southern style romance like Susan Elizabeth Philips. This time SEP takes us to Tennessee to meet a quirky cast of characters thrown together on a run down farm. Be prepared to fall in love with them all. This tale is about a lonely man and woman who discover friendship, family, and of a course a bone melting sexual chemistry. What's so nice about her stories is SEP reveals each person's faults, but shows us it is possible to find a love match even if we are far from perfect.
I liked this one so much I listened to my favorite parts twice. It is a charming story.
