If you enjoy Civil War books, and can take some fiction with the facts, I would recommend reading this series. The authors blend both fact and fiction to tell a very interesting story on how certain aspects of the war might have been if different actions or decisions had been made. It helps to know a little about the different battles, but even if you don't, the books make for very interesting reading.
I have never been a big fan of political assassin stories. I find them too predicable. I began reading book 6 of the series only because I had absolutely nothing else to read. My intent was to find something better as soon as I could. About half way through the book I began to notice that the story line was written unlike anything I expected. After finishing book 6, I had to go back and start reading from book 1. I have now read all 13. Mitch Rapp is a paid assassin for the CIA. (I know, just like every other CIA story but don't judge too quickly) He puts duty, honor, and sacrifice above his own self interest. Values that are not often found in D.C. Rapp specializes in going after extreme terrorists and those that protect and aide them, whether home or abroad. He then sets out eliminating them. if you are like me and feel that far too many of todays politicians are self-serving, and do only what is popular to get themselves reelected I would encourage you to check this series out. If you also enjoy seeing wrongs righted and the guilty paying for their crimes, then by all means read these books.
I wished I had done so before investing time and money in this book. Boring, tedious, and I had trouble listening to the whole thing.
I am a big fan of good ghost stories, but if it's fright you are looking for, you will be disappointed. This is not scary, unless you fing books like Harry Potter scary. It is ,however, very very entertaining and magical. Also safe for young people. If nothing else, listen to the sample. It just gets better from there.
The unabridged version of this book is 3 parts. It took me going through at least half of it before I really started getting interested in the story. After that, I was hooked. Very good narrator.
