I love this author and I liked this story. Was disappointed in narration. It put me to sleep. Could not tell the difference between characters.

Nehemiah, the young son of a Jewish woman, a weaver from Jerusalem, is born and raised among the Jews who didn't return to Jerusalem from the Exile. Educated by Rabbi Kagba, one of the magi present at Jesus' birth thirty years earlier, Nehemiah grows up with the expectation of a soon-coming Messiah. Could the Yeshua of Nazareth, who is walking the earth, reportedly doing miracles, be that Messiah? When young Nehemiah must travel the long caravan road to Jerusalem, he is charged with an unusual mission...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book did both make me laugh and cry. Can't wait for the sequel. The research is amazing. I think Ms Rivers is equal to Brock and Bodie Theone in her research and storytelling and means something to me because the Theone's have always been my favorites.

    Story

This is a must story for all Christians. The new Christians can use it as a warning not to put leadership on a pedestal ahead of God and seasoned Christians can take encouragement that God is always in control. It is a very emotional story, finely written. I have listened three times since buying it last month. I like the narrator very much. Could not understand others not liking her interpretation. I have experienced this story in real life twice with not the happy ending this book had, but received much encouragement in this book that God does care and will bring all things to right in HIS time.
