I waited so anxiously for this book, and it was such a disappointment when I finally got it. I loved the first two books, but this one just seemed flat. I fell asleep on it, woke up at the end and had no desire to go back and find out how I got there.
I got suckered in by a comparison to the Mitch Rapp novels, which I love. I should have waited for more reviews. Sorry I wasted a credit on this.
I bought this book because I had loved it as a child and saw that it was on sale due to the author's death. I wish I had taken a moment to read the reviews and listen to a bit of it first. I totally agree with most of the other reviews. While I managed to listen to the entire book because of my love of the story, at times it was like fingernails on a chalkboard. I will not be getting any of the other books, which I also loved as a kid, because I couldn't deal with any more of Madeleine L'Engle's shrieking narration. It would be wonderful to redo these classics with another more talented reader.
