As good as Da Vinci Code was,, this was a it's opposite. Either Dan Brown did not write it, or he "slept walked" through the creation of Inferno. The plot was predictable, the writing choppy and the characters lifeless.
A very disappointing book for Brown. I can only hope that Dan Brown gets over his writer's block and does better next time..
I dearly love the "displaced in Time" books such as Guns of the South and Final Countdown. Were this to have been my first book of this genre, I would never have read another. Everone portayed in this novel are flawed and unlikable. This book would have been much better if there had been at least a few characters with redeeming values. I understand that the author probably wnted "realistic" and "beleivable" persons in his book, but I know that there are people who are likable in real life. A few in this book is not too much to ask for.
Jay Snyder did a good job performing this book. It is not his fault that the material was so lack-luster.
