This first Nero Wolf novel is worth a read because this is where the series started. However, the tropes are not yet completely set. Nero and Archie are great but not yet the more fully developed personalities we know from some of the later books. Still, if you're a Nero Wolf fan you really can't live without it.
The book was well written and enjoyable DESPITE the reader. She read males just fine; however she read the main female charachter as if she were a sterotypical blond - vapid. Her reading was really quite disappointing. All in all I'll be reading other books by Jayne Castle but I'll be avoiding this reader.
This is a superbly written and read audiodrama. The reader does accents, animals, males and females in an incredible performance. The book has fascinating charachters and really brings the life of Northern CA during the gold rush to life. Truly a fantastic read!
This is a wonderfully quirky modern day fairytale of a knight in suit and tie. It is read superbly and there are no dull moments. This has relistenability!
I grew up with the Disney Peter Pan and loved it so I got this book. And was extremely pleasantly surprised to discover that it is even BETTER as an audio book. Jim Dale is a master reader and this story is really a lot of fun for adults as well as children. A lot of hidden humor.
p.s. I would love to see Peter & the Star catchers on audible.
It started out fun. Great premise. Two good charachters, the story just sort of petered out. Loved the short story it was based on and so got this. It's well read but I probably won't listen to it again.
Wish it weren't abridged.
Listening to these will make you wish there were more...
Always fun. The stories are fantastic.
Hearing Archie needle Nero & Nero Needle Archie is truly a delight.
