I did not enjoy this book as much as the first two. Even though it had the same wonderful characters, it missed some of the excitement of the previous books and was a bit predictable. Great background sound effects. Hope he will write another edition.

Alexandria isn’t sure she’s going to make it to her 18th birthday - to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she’s a goner...and so is Aiden. If that’s not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training" - which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time - she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

I really do love this series. Listen to it where ever I go. I enjoy the characters and the little twists in the story. I didn't really enjoy listening to the narrator during the first few chapters of the first book, but as the characters were included into the story I began to appreciate the vast amount of characters that she can portray. The love story is sweet but also a bit frightening, will they get caught ??? There is suspense written throughout the books. Really enjoyable.

When Earth herself lay under siege by an enemy humankind could not defeat, mankind undertook one last throw of the dice: Operation Ark. Earth's final colonizing expedition was meant to build a new civilization, on a planet so distant even the Gbaba might never find it, and without the high-tech infrastructure whose emissions might betray its location.

I rarely cannot finish a book, but I truly could not listen to this. It started off a bit confusing so I listened to the first part of the book twice. This did clarify the story line. However I continued to find this boring. After the first two hours, I couldn't continue. Sorry, not enough to keep me interested.

    Story

I could not finish this book, and I have rarely not finished a book. The narrator was boring, I had to go back periodically so that I could hear what she had read again. Her words often faded towards the end of a sentence. I just couldn't get into this book probably because of the narrator. Having critised the narrator, I just couldn't understand what was happening, with the story, at the beginning.

A must-read title for all fans of Patrick Rothfuss and Trudi Canavan, Fire is an exceptional fantasy novel. From the deft characterisation to the gripping story, the fast-paced action to the evocative prose, this is one of the strongest fantasy novels of the year. Set in a world of stunningly beautiful, exceptionally dangerous monsters, Fire is one of the most dangerous monsters of all - a human one. Marked out by her vivid red hair, she's more than attractive. Fire is mesmerising.

Really enjoyed this story, as I enjoyed the author's previous book in this series. Credible characters. Action with a little romance as well. The reader is also nice to listen to.
