I really liked this book about the history of not only one of the most significant companys in history but the lives of these two key players.

Not only did we get the history of GM but the history of the motor car in the American incarnation. It is a historical story, really well read, I really like the soft reading when quoting actual characters, and it kept moving.

An enriching experience.

We all procrastinate .... This book though not earth shattering would be of value for EVERYONE ... because we all could use our time better and be so much more satisfied with our lives as a result .... This book was interesting and useful very well worth a credit or a purchase

The characters in this book, most not particularly likeable, were just complex enough to grip you with interest yet not feel that they were unreal. I really liked the dialog - again some shy from the coarse language but this is the way people talk. The way people curse tells a lot about the character.

The Ripping yarn I believe comes from the interweaving of the many characters, shades of Ken Follett, relationships horizontal and vertical, is up and down the generations and across community.

The narration was really excellent, even, flowing and subtle with each character. The story though not much fun, kept me intrigued as to wanting to know what was going to happen next - to me it was an audio page turner .

A story with guts, some humour, intrigue, an I felt immersed and absorbed in the world of the the English midlands.

This is a great story. Ken Follett's stories are magnificent, the characters woven with the history is so stimulating. I really liked the interweaving of the cultures, nationality and classes. The children of the characters of the first book grow and take centre stage.

I really like the way Audio books makes really large books accessible, I used to find them daunting , now I enjoy the alone times in cars, in motels, doing the washing and ironing and sharing the time with "my friends" in these long wonderful stories ...

If you read the first ... you cannot miss this one.

Swan Song was and interesting "post-apocalyptic" story as I have not read one before and have avoided them in the past ... I got a bit confused with the whole "Friend" character and I thought it was overly long. I agree with another reviewer that the story is not too dated given it was written in 1987.

Still I persisted and found it enjoyable but the problem for me is that I am 3 out 4 into the Mathew Corbett series which I think are just "Ripping Yarns" and absolutely adore them.
So this earlier work I found dragged a little.

I enjoyed the linking of the 3 sometime 4 separate adventures of the different characters and thought the narration was well done. I think Robert McCammon's characters are always very interesting.

The old great story ... good to hear again .... We have probably all read this when we were younger and it is really nice to listen to it performed and relive it all again

Rosenfelt's style is very enjoyable combining humour with an interesting plot ... even though you tend to have the solution only at the end ... the journey is really enjoyable as his wise cracking self effacing style is just as pleasant as the story ...

I use his book as a break in between longer sagas.

I thought this was so enjoyable, listening to the accents of the 3 different readers, the weaving of the story, the danger, and the strong feelings of humanity and connectivity.
