"Addictively brilliant"
There should be warning on the cover of the Enderverse series stating that once started life will take a backseat until its done.
Doesn't get better.
"Bloody Marvellous"
Just Fantastic. Larry Niven needs to get off his butt and write more like this one.
"Beautifully Clever"
This is a beautifully clever book. It is a worthwile spend of your time, but to avoid disappointment do not be too impatient at the outset.
I find Larry Niven slow going at first. I even get irritated by the care with which he sets the foundations of his proes, but then it hots up and you are transported to his world. A well thought out, clever, insightful and exciting place that is just around the corner. The world could be, or would be as he describes if we were only able to develop the technology to travel from star to star.
This is an excellent book. I recommend it strongly but prescribe you give the start a chance, you will be richly rewarded.
His book Ringworld is similar. It starts out slow and thereafter the only disappointment is that it ends.

"Long, long, long"
I tried. I listened. The plot reveals itself desperately slowly.
If you want to stretch time, listen to this book.
"See from another side"
The narrator is good.
This book stayed with me long after the listening was over. it's gift is viewing the world from the other side of the table.
Good choice.
"Keeps the promise"
Well written, well narrated, is what it is.
Worth it, wonderful.
Enjoy.
"Factual but long"
If you like listening to a text book (which I do), you are halfway there. The ideas are somewhat dated. Strong Freudian themes and explanations, but in audio format it is a long listen.
"Beautifully dense"
A magnificent book. The language is beautifully rich. The author does a wonderful thing, he describes the world of a simple person in a refreshingly intricate way.
Listening is bliss.
"Desperately Poor"
I cannot believe the paucity of the humour in this Un-cabaret un-comedy.
If it were better, it would be mediocre. It sounds like the "comedians" are reading their scripts to a canned audience.
South Africans would describe this book as "kak".
"For the uninitiated - I envy you"
I am extraordinarily pleased that I had not heard of Larry Niven, else I would have sampled his genius and the beauty of his discriptions and ideas sooner.
To all you out there that have not yet tasted what is simply a sublime peice of story telling and idea generation. I envy you. You have something wonderful in your future.
Enjoy
