I loved this book and didn't want it to end! What a great story made particularly enjoyable because it was narrated by the author!

Summer, 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels has come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the criminally insane. Along with his partner, Chuck Aule, he sets out to find an escaped patient, a murderess named Rachel Solando, as a hurricane bears down upon them.

But nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is what it seems. Is he there to find a missing patient? Or has he been sent to look into rumors of Ashecliffe's radical approach to psychiatry?

Barry says: "Outstanding psychological thriller set in the 50s"
"Really Enjoyed it until the end...."

The first 3/4th of this book is really good. I'm always looking for books for long road trips with my husband and I thought I could easily listen to this one again. Until the end. Disappointing ending. Don't think we'll listen to this one again.

Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through Pine Cove, California, people are busy buying, wrapping, packing, and generally getting into the holiday spirit.

colleen says: "Another Pine Cove winner"
"Not as good as I had hoped"

I listened to Dirty Job and hoped that this book would be as amusing. It started out well but I couldn't wait for it to be over. The story became preposterous.
