It is the perfect fantasy love story that we ladies all desire to have and may have had to some degree if you have ever been entwined with a rock band. The highs the lows, the misgivings, and the forgiven, all of it: the unimaginable feel goods to the most miserable emptiness and self loathing, all which finally yields to the mighty storm, LET IT THUNDER!!!
This book ROCKS! The entire Joe Ledger books is one of the BEST series overall! Johnathan Mayberry is a fascination, Ray Porter a magnificent narrator, Joe Ledger is who everyone wants to have on their side when the going gets tough and Mr Church the cool calculating chief of command, Rudy the shrink and Joe's best friend. Extinction was well worth the wait and unfortunately too quickly listened too. Ray Porter does an amazing job with all of the characters voices and really does Joe justice. It has everything you would want to find in a book: a plot with depth, real life people facing incredible odds, my God from zombies to aliens Joe and Echo Team kick ass. The story takes its time building a solid plot interspersed with action and lots of questions to keep you involved and thinking, pulling you in.. a long with Ghost, Joe's war dog extraordinaire. If you like intelligent fast action willing to take anything evil down this is it....Read this then catch the series, it will never disappoint...except for the time you must wait to get to the next one, that is what I must do again.... Looking to download another Ray Porter narration just to keep a part of it still going...
This book links the plots together
The realness of it
EVERYTHING, He is fabulous
Either Joe or Mr Church
Just read the series, over and over
The plot, the humor, ACTION, Adventure, Tenderness and Ray Porter who brings it all to life!
Ray is one of the BEST narrators I have ever listened too, his tone and inflection is always right on as it should be, his characters become reality.
Every moment! Joe's tenderness is still there in the midst of carnage.
READ THIS! Johnathan Mayberry will not dissappoint!
The potential for the entire concept of this books theme , the portrayal of bravery, meet the warrior, and the mindset which discerns good from evil. Filled with fast paced extreme action, kept me engulfed in the terror...
Perhaps Covet a JR Ward title, a different slant on, evil clashing with good, angel versus demon and the innocents simply discarded to maintain a 'cause'.
First I must say Ray Porter is one of the best narrators I have ever had the pleasure to hear
Mr Church's voice so fitted his role, edging out Joe Ledger's voice ever so slightly. Ray's ability to switch his voice quickly and distinctly is truly an amazing phenomena. Ray's proficiency to have the correct infliction moment to moment brings the story to life: it's horror and it's humor intertwined.
Yes, Yes , Yes!
I'm already 3/4s the way through the 2nd book 'The Dragon Factory"' which definitely is not a disappointment! and have book #3 'The King Of Plagues' downloaded and ready to roll!
I would read this trilogy again, slowly and take in the nuances offered. The first book was antagonistic due to Ana's immaturity and response to circumstances, but redeemed it self as it triggered the reader to review their own awkwardness in youth. It took me halfway through the 2nd book to really open my heart to the narrator, she was an excellent Ana, I enjoyed the read enough to finally accept Christian's voice as portrayed. I do believe that people search for this 'agape' . I was pleased within , to note the writer is of a 'good nature' and believes in fairy tales too. It is a book to accept in the moment of the read, a relationship tangled in passion, stark reality, of past and present and the inviting intrigue of future hopes and dreams.
The Story of O, which is not found in Audible's library, however this book takes a very different if not doomed twist.
I found Becca's Anna impeccable, and cannot imagine Anna as anyone elses' voice. I do believe it would have been a 5 star performance if a male narrator had assumed the role of Christian...
It made me long for an INSANELY RICH soul mate. Who wouldn't want to live that way?? Kristel champagne> come on now! private jet? Charley Tango? and one of those Audi's to zip through life...
Fellow readers be objective when you read this book, it is an entertaining love story, that is all, read beyond the 1st book and it will please you, nothing more, nothing less.
I am so thankful for the audio version, Tavia is wonderful, I've grown used to her voice which I include now as a part of the story. . My life is very busy and I have limited time to sill myself to actually read a book for personal satisfaction. Audible has granted me a pleasure that I can access while driving, as a joyful mental exercise towards work and a decompression for my brain on the way home and about town. Audible is addictive!!
Every book in this series is good, they build on each other, you become a comrade in their struggles
Yes I have listened to this series and they are consistent in performance, although I note a familiarity to the characters in the later books that was not capable of being present in the first ones. I have not listened to any works out side of this series in which Tavia has read
