"I luv The Walking Dead & thse pre-stories are grt!"
I truly loved this book. I don't care what anyone else says.I was interested in the story about this character. I was surprised how it ended. Way different then I expected. This book kept my interest just as well as a book I would read myself. I was thrilled with the narrator chosen for this book. His version of the voices were great and I don't think it would have come across this way if it was someone else. Fred is perfect for this story. And because of this I would truly want to listen to more books that he has read.
I've been on the zombie kicked for many years now. Way before "The Walking Dead" TV show came out. I'm a fan of the TWD comics that started off the TV show. Because of this I could say I would compare this book to many of the other zombie books I've read. But because of Fred it was so great to listen to and I wanted to keep going and not "put it down".
All of the book was my fav but the best was the end (which I won't give out for those who've not read it yet) when Brian introduced himself.
YES...it was so difficult to stop ready when I was sleepy or have something to do..it took me a week to listen to it for these reasons when it should have taken one day.
I became a member of Audible because I'm disabled now and sitting around all the time so i'm always reading and it's nice to just liten once in awhile...I've always reading the descriptions and trying to find great books to listen too. I am on a big zombie kick right now so that's how I roll at the minute...
"ANOTHER WINNER IN THIS SERIES"
OK just finished the 3rd book of the series. another winner. so loved the story and the way it ended. Again I love the way Jay reads a story! I totally can get into those voices in my head to sound like the people I picture. I truly enjoyed this series and hope J.L. Bourne comes up with more zombies stories for Jay to read!
"Loved the 2nd book just as much as the first"
I LOVED the way Jay reads these books! He has a nice deep voice and when he changes it to do a "diff" person I totally feel that I'm hearing someone else. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I am sure I will find myself listening to this again after I get thru the rest of the books in my library.
"Luv the zombie books!"
The narrator's voice is easy to listen to. He does a great job of sounding like other people in the story. I luv all the zombie stories so I bought this just because. but I truly enjoyed the entire story. I like listening to how the people are going to get away from the zombies and how their "adventure" goes. It's like having a TV in my mind while I'm listening to the narrator.
I like listening to books because I'm disabled so sitting here all day long doing nothing is usually boring. One can only watch so much TV. so I like lying here listening to the stories as I can close my eyes and just picture all the action in my mind. It sure does give me an adventure I would never be able to go on by myself! I luv audible.com for all the "vacations" it takes me on!
"LUV THE WALKING DEAD ~ ALL OF IT!!"
this is a great book! I love Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead comic series so when the TV show came out it was a no brainer. Being that the comics & TV show are different from each other in some ways it was nice to know both stories. Then these 2 books came out about the governor. I thought they both were great! The story line doesn't include anything from the TV show which is nice because now the listener gets to hear how one of the characters came about. I truly enjoyed it.
Fred is the perfect voice for this book/series! He can make himself sound like so many different people. It was hard to believe it was one guy reading the story! I am going to look for his other work too. I'm sure those books will be just as great!
Cannot wait for more to come out in this series. I sure hope there will be more!!
"CLASSIC XMAS STORY THAT WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!"
This is a great Xmas story from my childhood. I'll be 51 yrs old this month and I can still listen and watch this story every Xmas. The cartoon will always be my favorite of all time.
"Chariots of the Gods ~ bttr if Erich narrated this"
Yes, because I often listened when I couldn't sleep & I'm sure I missed stuff here & there so I will listen to it again.
O the only books that I've read or am reading/listening to are Erich's other books...he does often mention one in another.
I personally did not think the narrator was as good as if Erich read it to us. The speed I like to listen to did not do this narrator any favors and moving it down a notch made it too slow for me to listen to.
I cannot say there was any one moment that struck me differently.
I enjoy listening to books on audible. sometimes the narrator doesn't do it for me and this is one of those times. As I've seen many interviews with Erich, I truly love his excitement and how he speaks about his work. I think he would have been a much better story teller and I feel that way for all his books.
"Interesting story"
I think I rank this book the same as others I've read. I found it interesting.
There are no separate characters.
I wasn't that impressed with the narration..I wish Erich could have narrated himself.
no I just thought it was interesting
I'm working my way though all of Erich's books...I find the concepts very interesting..Yes U could say I'm a believer.
