Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus started a movement that has grown like wildfire throughout the past 20 centuries. Author and pastor Andy Stanley brings to life from Scripture and over 25 years of pastoral experience the irresistible nature of this movement known as the Church. Stanley identifies some of the key decisions and strategies that helped the church begin by the power of the Holy Spirit many centuries ago and continues to flourish today.

What did you love best about Deep & Wide?

This book would serve as a great resource for any church leader. In general, there are many life lessens to take away from this book. As with most books, there will be parts that may not be applicable to everyone's situation. However, you will not regret the time spent listening. This, like many good books, was compelling to the point that I subsquently bought the print copy so that I could go back and study it in depth! Enjoy.

Like many young idealists, Eric Greitens wanted to make a difference. During college and afterward, he traveled to the world's trouble spots, working in refugee camps, serving the sick and the poor on four continents, from Gaza to Croatia to Mother Teresa's home in Calcutta, among others. Yet he could not prevent violence or save anyone from becoming a refugee; he could only step in afterward and try to ease the damage. So Eric joined the Navy SEALs and became an elite warrior....

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Where does Sycamore Row rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Sycamore Row ranks near the top! As always, Grisham delivers an entertaining and thrilling book! I very much enjoyed it! I hope that John continues to write his own books and does not take up the common practice of successful authors; selling their names to the books written by others under the idea of "collaboration." Keep up the great work Mr Grisham!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The book was below average compared to most books I listen to. That said, it kept my attention and interest enough not to stop listening. I have no interest in investing resources in future books in this series.

Do you think Swarm needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I believe there are other books in the series. I will not read them....

    Any additional comments?

As I recall, I bought the book on sale. It was worth a few bucks but would not have been worth a full credit.

The Greek philosopher Socrates famously said that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” Taking this as a starting point, Eric Metaxas founded a speaking series that encouraged busy and successful professionals to attend forums and think actively about the bigger questions in life; thus Socrates in the City: Conversations on “Life, God, and Other Small Topics” was born.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! I very much enjoyed the thought provoking topics and rationale that was presented by most of the speakers. Unlike a print version of this "book," the audio version is actually digital recordings of guest speakers and short Q & A sessions that followed. I would love to hear additional speakers in a sequel. I would suggest that Eric edit his introductions. I very much have enjoyed Eric's books and have learned a lot about great leaders (I would recommend any of his books to you). However, before each speaker Eric spends nearly TEN full minutes introducing them and telling jokes. I appreciate a brief introduction so that I know the background of the speaker. A joke or two would be fine. However after the first few introductions I started skipping the intro all together (saving myself 10 minutes per speaker) and jumping right to the meat of the topic.

She dwells in seclusion, a fugitive from enemies who will do her harm if she is ever found. But the bond between them runs deeper than the tragedies that have scarred their lives. What made the experience of listening to Innocence the most enjoyable?

Well told story. The main character reminded me of Odd Thomas but in a fresh storyline.

    Any additional comments?

I very much enjoyed listening and continually wondering what made the main character so different. What an amazing and interesting twist/revelation that completed the book. I hope there is a follow up to this book.

I would highly recommend this book to everyone.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the first few chapters (or so) of this book. After that the author seemed to simply rehash the same idea over and over and over. I would not consider this book a waste of time or money but would recommend when you note that the book is becoming redundant that you stop and consider it done.

What could Arbinger Institute have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Great concept but too redundant and long for the idea presented.

A terrorist bomb explodes during a South Korean celebration of the anniversary of the election of its first president. Alarms are raised in Washington. No one is claiming responsibility. The first suspect is North Korea. Could it be making a power play against South Korea and unification? If so, how will the U.S. respond? Paul Hood, Director of the Op-Center, must answer these questions. The Op-Center, a largely autonomous new agency which takes on the government's toughest security problems, is only six months old, and has never been given a foreign crisis until now.

What made the experience of listening to Tom Clancy's Op-Center the most enjoyable?

    Thrilling military (special forces) story.

    Any additional comments?

Back in the day, I actually read a few of these books--holding the printed page. I found them enjoyable so I thought I would give it a try again. If you like Tom Clancy's work, you will likely enjoy this book. It is important to note that Op Center books are not as detailed (complex story lines) as Tom's full novels. That said, the more complex story lines can be a bit to keep track of unless you are staying steadily with the book.

I would recommend this book and will buy others.

Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.

I highly recommend this book! It is the first book that I was tempted to start reading again as soon as I finished it! I read a paper copy of this book and I am very interested in listening to the audio version.

I bought multiple copies of the book to give as gifts!
