The critics' reviews intrigued me to listen to this book. I almost never get a book until I have read some reader reviews, but something about this one made me want to get. It seemed like it was such a great premise it had to be good. I was very disappointed. I felt no connection to any character in the book whatsoever. It was only 7 hours yet I had a really tough time finishing it. I found it puzzling that what should be such a "tense" storyline was so "flat."

I would never say never after just reading one book.

Her voice didn't seem to fit the period or the mood. I did not think she was a bad narrator, I just thought this book was not a good fit for her. Hard to tell whether she did not bring any life to the book or the book had no life to bring.

I thought this book was a great idea and could have explored t so many human emotions/actions, yet, as I stated, I was hard-pressed to even finish it and there was no sense of connection with anybody.

Loved this book start to finish. Couldn't stop listening. The narrator was excellent!

Great listen. Made my long drive very easy and the narrator was excellent! The pace never stopped from beginning to end! Pretty intense at times!

This was a decent book. I finished it. I do agree with others, though, that there was way
too much needless descriptive detail. I have probably not heard "alluvial" so many times in my life as I did in this book.

I found this book to be a bit too disturbing for me. It's been a while since I've read any Patterson books, so I must have forgotten! It was a little too much listening to the detailed blow by blow description of torture of women and children..

This was an excellent book. The narrators were very good and it was hard to put down. I would highly recommend it as a great listen!!

Loved this book...Very inspiring. It makes you realize what we are capable of doing if we have the will and desire to do something.

There is so much I could say, but it's all been said...To sum it up in one word; EXCELLENT!
