"Great Book but the Narrator..."
The book was well written and I can't wait for the second one but I am hoping the Narrator will take the hint not to be so shrill when the action picks up. Ilsa Bick did a wonderful job with the story line. As a fan of apocalypse books this one has great twist on the theme.
"What our schools lied?"
Very enlightening and entertaining. As a fiction junkie it was refreshing to see non fiction can still entertain me. This just isn't a story of Manhattan it is a story of American and what we thought we knew. JOB WELL DONE.
"50's style horror"
Did you ever see a horror movie where the kids are fleeing the swamp and every path they take leads them deeper and deeper into the abyss. From the first chapter on I felt that way and just when I felt I knew the plot I would step off the path and into black water. I really did enjoy this story and look forward to more from the writer
"Calories: Who would of thought..."
It's has taken me a long time to stew over this book and now that I have twice listened to it I think it is even more disturbing and worth the listen. The performance was flawless. Is it possible to create a world so alien to our own and then project the listener into that world without leaving us lost? Paolo makes me feel like I had been there and Jonathan reminds me of the sites and sounds. More than a credit well spend it was time well spent.
"Strange"
This is one of the strange books that doesn't really make the jump to horror or comedy much less back again. Would I listen to it again...NO. Was it worth a credit...Maybe. I did recommend it to my wife and she thought it was as cornball as I did. I still don't think it was zombie book but more of soap opera with a zombies tossed in to add drama.
"Challenge to follow"
I loved the book and loved the narration but since I multitask while listening I struggled with this one. The jumping around from present to past and back all in the same thought made a typical story untypical. Most of the secondary characters beg for their stories to be told so can we look forward to a prequel or sequel?
