The bizarre murder of a parish priest at a New York bondage club opens Nikki Heat's most thrilling and dangerous case so far, pitting her against New York's most vicious drug lord, an arrogant CIA contractor, and a shadowy death squad out to gun her down. And that is just the tip of an iceberg that leads to a dark conspiracy reaching all the way to the highest level of the NYPD.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes!! and I have recommended it. If you like the TV series or if you like murder mysteries, this book is a fun read. The characters are so similar to TV that you can picture them but they aren't the same. Its a quick read and I will read the series again sometime when I can't remember how it goes anymore.

What did you like best about this story?

The interaction of all the characters is fun and lighthearted and well written

As The Sacred Band begins, one of them, Queen Corinn, bestrides the world as a result of her mastery of spells found in the ancient Book of Elenet. Her younger brother, Dariel, has been sent on a perilous mission to the Other Lands, while her sister, Mena, travels to the far north to confront an invasion of the feared race of the Auldek. Their separate trajectories will converge in a series of world-shaping, earth-shattering battles, all rendered with vividly imagined detail and in heroic scale.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I would have read it anyway since I liked the first books in the series but I was dissappointed in the ending of this one since it didn't seem to be finished all the way like maybe its not the end of the series? But its the 3rd in a trilogy so.... whatever. Mostly it was entertaining, if a liittle painful in parts when the queen does some sorta evil things but she comes around to a better place toward the end. I just didn't feel enough closure with this one.

Was The Sacred Band worth the listening time?

sure, I have a lot of time to listen and like I said, I read the first two books.

Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Its not my usual genre but I found it entertaining and absorbing. I felt like I knew how things were back then. The characters were well written and complex.
