Tiffany Aching has spent years studying with senior witches, and now she is on her own. As the witch of the Chalk, she performs the bits of witchcraft that aren't sparkly, aren't fun, don't involve any kind of wand, and that people seldom ever hear about: She does the unglamorous work of caring for the needy. But someone - or something - is igniting fear, inculcating dark thoughts and angry murmurs against witches.

I was disappointed when I first listened to this book and it was announced that it was from Audible Children. I am glad I continued to listen because it was a funny and entertaining listen. My husband hates when I read a book or listen to my IPod and I laugh out loud so I have to turn my laugh into a cough. While I was listening to this book he actually asked me if I was coming down with a cold! Also, after finishing I immediately downloaded the previous books in the series and enjoyed them as well. If you have a sense of humor this series will keep you entertained.

A hilarious, heartwarming, and heartbreaking memoir by the chief wildlife ranger in the number one most popular family vacation destination in the USA, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. For over 30 years, Kim DeLozier acted as a referee in the wild, trying to protect millions of park visitors from one of the densest populations of wild black bears in America - and the bears from tourists who get too close.

Sometimes you think people surely have better sense than to try to "feed the bears" within reach but I have personally seen mothers dragging their children, running after a sow and cubs to try to feed them potato chips from a bag they got out of their car.

I really liked this book because the Smokies was a popular place for my family to vacation when we were growing up and most of the places mentioned in the book I was familiar with. We never camped out because my Mom was not comfortable sharing space with the larger a more powerful animals at night and since she was travel director in the family, Daddy went along with this decision.

Interesting book if you want to know what the pre-Dollywood days were like in the Smokies.I have a lot of respect for those who deal with the animals and tourists in our National Parks. We need to value both the officers and the animals more.

On what was supposed to be a romantic vacation for herself and her lover, Dougless finds instead a journey of disappointment, heartbreak and abandonment. What Dougless needed now was a knight in shining armor. What she got was just exactly that!

This has been one my favorite books since it was originally published in paperback. It remained on my bookshelves, never to be traded or given away and reread at least once every three years. It's not great literature but it is good fiction and entertainment. I didn't know it was on Audible until I took advantage of their latest website-wide sale and looked for several books I wanted and there it was! For some reason it speaks to me. I'm not a Jude Deveraux fan so I don't know how this compares to her other books, but I recommend this one for hours of good listening.

Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan knows magic - earth, ley line, even the forbidden demon magic - and that knowledge has saved her life more than once. But now something - or someone - is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong while living vampires attack humans and Inderlanders alike. The pressures build when the city is quarantined to contain the unreliable magic, and Rachel must stop the attacks before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war.

I don't like to regurgitate the plot, I'll just say I have all the Hollows books from the beginning and Kim's is a great plot master. The only thing I hate is waiting for the next book, (oh my gosh #13), and as all good things, someday it has to end. But whenever that day comes, I will be sad. Please if you are new to the series do yourself a favor and start at the beginning. There are so many characters that came before who are referred to and you need to know what the background was. You will not be sorry.

Would you listen to Dead Ever After again? Why?

I always listen to my books that I enjoy over and over again. I always read the In Death Series by Jd Robb over and over. This series by Ms.Harris has always been one of my favorites too. To see Sookie grow into an aware young and have several relationships with different sups, some are like able some not so like able is what makes the WHOLE series come together. The books are not meant to stand alone they are bricks in the wall of a 16 book castle that we have been give to enjoy how ever we choose. They do make a little more sense if you read them in order.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Always Sookie and her friends and relatives.

Great narrative and story and there seems to be talk of other books soon . These books are great for us who actually outgrew our comic books and graduated to books by way of audible books. Maybe a little More Main line to use an IPod. I will keep track of this author, she is promising.

Savannah “Van” Leone has loved Peter since the day they met. The problem is, Peter has loved Van’s best friend, Janie, since the moment they met. And now they’re walking down the aisle, with Van standing nearby in a Halloween-orange bridesmaid dress, her smile as hollow as one on a jack-o’-lantern. After the wedding Van drowns her sorrows in Kool-Aid-vodka cocktails and reruns of Rin Tin Tin, and does what any woman in her situation would do: She buys a German Shepherd over the Internet.

To be honest I downloaded this book because it was from the You Pick sale, and I had never read anything by the author. I will be looking for future books. Great book, very enjoyable for all the reasons you download books. I didn't want to stop listening.

After making an odd request to evict his sister-in-law from his home, one of her clients turns up dead. Jackie would have expected that to be the end of it, but an envelope found on the corpse contains an item so unusual that she finds herself working on something bigger, and more dangerous, than real estate.

I took a chance on this audiobook and loved the writing and the characterization by the narrator. When I listen to an audible.com book the narrator can make or break the experience. After I listened to this book by Chris Knopf I downloaded the rest of the available books. The books and narration by those books were also great. I would recommend listening to them in date order of publication. The development of the characters flow into the next book. If you like unusual mysteries you will love this series by Chris Knopf.
