"My new favorite author"
As always, Kate Morton's story weaves a secret held until a most unexpected end. And Caroline Lee's expertise at giving every character a distinct voice and personality.
Not on the edge of my seat but always wondering what would be reveled next. Better than "edge of my seat."
Yes. As usual, excellent!
I get very attached to Kate Morton's characters. Caroline Lee is a first rate narrator.
Again, my favorite author and narrator.
"another winner by kate morton"
Trying to figure out how the mystery would unravel. As always, the end was a total surprise!!
She is the best narrator I have listened to. A gifted storyteller.
Vivian Jenkins.
Kate Morton has such a gift for weaving a story and like magic it unravels at the end with in a perfect finish, not to be given away throughout the novel. Bravo!!
"EXCELLENT!!!"
Story was well written. Subtle humor and engrossing.
All of it!
Meeting Jesus.
When tiger left.
I recommend to all. Entertaining, kept me listening. Excellent narrator.
"couldn't get through it."
Hard to listen to and couldn't get into what was going on.
I can't even answer the questions. I was bored from the beginning trying to make sense of it. I just stopped.
"Dry, boring."
Really can't think of anyone who would get to the end.
Yes.Too boring.
No, hard to understand.
Not really.
I couldn't finish it. It never got my interest. A real snoozer.
"Good book, not so good narrator."
Yes, I just have to get past the narrator making the main male character sound like a pervert.
I don't think any were really "memorable".
If she doesn't do exrotic romance.
Sensual with baggage.
I liked the story, but this genre is not the narrator's nitch. I had to really try to hear a different voice for male lead, she ruined that character with her spin on how he would talk. Really took away from the story.
"Another Allen hit!"
In my "really like it" list.
All of them. Each had a valuable place in the overall story.
She did well with all of them. Good narrator.
No, just couldnt stop listening!
Sarah Addison Allen does it again, produces a "can't put it down" book.
"I didnt get the point. no plot."
A plot!! Finish the story!
No! Not a narrators voice.
This could be a great novel if it was finished. I was just getting into the story when it was over, with no point. I have read several Sarah Addison Allen books and loved them. All her other books are well written, great plots, interesting characters. This started out that way then abruptly ended. I'm glad this was not the first one I read or I would not try others. Please Ms Allen, never use this narrator again, boring, dry, terrible drawl accent.
"Terrible story."
Story was terrible. No plot, sex scenes were boring, the end was not an ending.
Nothing by this author!!
She was fair with what she had to work with.
Disappointed.
"Great book, Excellent narrator!"
Absolutely, I already have.
The storyline went back and forth between generations. Revealing the thoughts of characters. When you think you have the mystery figured out, you don't. Enchanting, surprising, heartfelt, made me care about the characters to the very last word. I didn't want it to end, Loved, loved this novel!!!
She gives a personality to every character. I forget the story is told by one person. Completely loved her voice, accent, and talent at giving each character their own unique voice. Caroline is the best.
Perfect title, don't change it.
Can't wait to hear my next Kate Morton, Caroline Lee book.
