"Series just keeps getting better and better"
Magic Strikes, is the 3rd book in the "Magic" series, written by the man and wife team that goes by the name, Ilona Andrews.
Each book in this series, gets better and better.
In this book, you get the same action packed story, that is present in the 2 prior books. But, there is also a bit more romance, which I loved.
I can't wait for the next book to come out!
"Best book in series!"
City of Ghosts, is by far the best book in this series. I have to admit, it took me awhile to "get" the dark and gritty world of magic, that author, Stacia Kane, has invented. You know, like when you read "Shakespeare" sometimes it is hard to understand, until you get into the rhythm of the language.
The same is true for the Chess Putnam series. Ms. Kane has most of her characters speaking in this broken language that is not very articulate. But after the flow of the language came to me, I really did enjoy the story.
Chess, the main character, is very tainted. In fact all of the charaters have huge flaws. But these flaws make them so much more interesting. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes their urban fantasy with a little grit, and alot of action.
"For Adult Ears Only"
First, I would like to say how glad I was to find that Kimberly Alexis, is once again the narrator. Her take on Jean-Claude's french accent is perfect. She makes the story much more enjoyable. She IS the voice of Anita Blake, in my opinion.
Having said that, now I would like to comment on the story. What there was of a plot, was over shadowed by the very explict sex scenes. One after another. I think it is safe to say that, "Bullet" contains the most graphic sexual content, of any of the prior "Anita Blake" books.
So, if you are not comfortable with M/M, BDSM, F/F or group sex, then you will find this book, well..... more than alittle upsetting.
WARNING: These books are addicting. There is something about the whole, OMGosh, they didn't just do that, "SHOCK FACTOR", that keeps readers, like me, buying book after book.
FYI: The Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series is written for adults only.
"GREAT BOOK, Perfect Narrator!"
Wow! What a great book! This series gets better and better.
One of the many things, I like about the Ilona Andrews writing team, is that even though this is book 4 in a 7 book series, it doesn't feel like a "bridge" book. When I finished reading "Magic Bleeds" I felt a satisfaction, that I haven't had lately when reading books from other series that I follow. "Magic Bleeds" is the whole enchilada. You get action, romance, and one of the best kick-butt heroines out there. It's a "I can't stop listening" even though it's one in the morning kinda book.
Yeah, it's that good.
Renee Raudman, is the perfect narrator for this series. Kudos, to whomever paired the Kate Daniel, Magic Series with Ms. Raudman. She gets the sarcastic humor of this book, and plays right into it. She is so good, that you forget that she is READING the book. Instead, it feels like she is TELLING you her story.
"Very Old, Very Dark, Very Good"
Ok, So you have to remember, this story was written a long time BEFORE Bram Stoker, ever penned his now famous "Dracula". Which in my humble opinion, makes the tale even more intriguing.
Being in that "Carmilla" A Vampyre Tale" was written many, many, years ago. I found that, just like many stories written that era, used a dialect that says alot, without really being direct. In this tone, we find a faint lesbian undertone. Making the charater, Carmilla, that much more creepy.
If you love vampires, this is a must read.
"Who Knew, Angels could be so hot!"
This is the first book in Nalini Singh's Guild Hunters series.
Singh's main charater is a kick-butt, kinda girl. She is a "Born" Vampire Hunter. And she is the best there is. Her life is going fine, until she is hired by the very sexy, Archangel, Raphael. (who knew wings could be hot?)
I can't wait for the next Guild Hunter book called "Archangel's Kiss" to come out.
Singh is also the author of the Psy-Changeling Series. But, I don't think any books in that series are offered as audiobooks.
"Sookie is back, and better than ever!"
I have read all of the "Sookie Stackhouse" books. And I have to say, this is my favorite so far. I really enjoyed her relationship with Eric. But, of course, in the end, I was left wanting even more.
When does the next book come out?! Not soon enough!
GREAT STORY
"Different, But Really Good!"
I just finished listening to "Breathers", and I really liked it. The story is about "Zombies", so you can expect some gore. But, the story was really, really good.
Kirby Heyborne, was the narrator. He did a great job, of sounding like he was telling the story, instead of reading it.
"Perfect Chemisty has perfect chemistry."
I wasn't sure if I would like this book. It was recommended to me, so I thought I would take a chance and buy it. Now, I am glad that I did.
Two diffrent narrators were used to tell the story. And I think that that made the book even better.
There are some very adult themes in this book, even though it is suppose to be a Young Adult book. Maybe, more like an "Older Young Adult" book. LOL
Enjoy.
"Vampires & Shapeshifters & Witches, OH MY!"
This is the first book that I have read by Faith Hunter. I found that I really enjoyed it. I liked that her main character is a strong, smart, and most importantly..... wait for it.....from North Carolina.
There has been alot of buzz about this book. So, I was pleasantly surprised, when I found it here.
Thanks Audible, for providing another great story within the Paranormal/Urban Fantasy genre.
FYI: This is a hint of romance in this book, but only a hint.
