"Much better than last"
This story was much better than his last and reminded me of the old Tom Clancy.
Lou Diamond Phillips still does a good job at narrating.
The last part suggests another edition coming soon.
"Great Book"
Great story.
Yes I would agreed with other reviewers that it reminds me of Harry Dresden series.
This book combined Druids, Witches, Gods, Vampires, Werewolves and others.
Too bad there's only three books.
Eager to listen to Book 2
"Gave Up"
I gave this book 11 chapters before I finally gave up. I found the storyline very boring. It was somewhat depressing to read about the problems encountered by the main character. Others have mentioned that it gets better but I don't have the time. I don't think I will listen to other books by the author if this is an example of his best work.
"No "Thrill""
This was my first exposure to a John Rain Thriller and I was very disappointed. I stopped listening. Very little action for a story about an assassin. I agree with another reviewer - way too much detail in Japanese.
"You can't replace George Guidall!"
Although I'm a devoted fan of Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp, I must admit I found the voice of Nick Sullivan to be annoying and poorly engaging. I almost stopped listening. Many of the characters sound like Smithers from "The Simpsons".
George Guidall does a much better job.
"This is No Jack Ryan novel"
I recall staying up all night reading the latest spy thrillers from Tom Clancy. His last two novels I regret are not of the same caliber. I was somewhat disappointed by this novel. The best part is the last quarter of the book. I didn't find Steven Weber to be a captivating narrator. I almost stop listening at one point.
If you want suspense and action stick with Vince Flynn novels.
Sorry Tom.
