Six months ago, the world ended. The Baugh Contagion swept across the planet. Its victims were left twitching, adrenalized cannibals that quickly became know as Junkies. Civilization crumbled as people created isolated safe havens to hide from the infected... and the possibly infected. Now, as society nears a tipping point, lives will intersect and intertwine across two days in a desolate city.

The emergency skeleton crew sees only one chance for survival: build an artificial consciousness in the Earthling's primary computer that can guide them to their destination - and hope it doesn't destroy the human race.

Wow, this is a good science book that is not so much about science as it is about a man and life and the problems we fall into with not being perfect. The ending is good. The build up is great and the characters are amazing. I would read it again in a second.

Stealth. Gorgon. Regenerator. Cerberus. Zzzap. The Mighty Dragon. They were heroes. Vigilantes. Crusaders for justice, using their superhuman abilites to make Los Angeles a better place. Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland like so many others.

This story could have been terrible. But it is done very very well. I was impressed by how the story came together completely and the characters were deep and with faults of their own. The only problem I had with the book is why the bad guys (no spoiler) were bad. Otherwise great read for a genera that is hard to be creative in.

Definitely a Teen book. It is fun it is interesting however it is not deep and it has the same problems as most teen books, such that if this logical step was taken, then none of this would happen.

I enjoyed the book, but it was not up to what I was expecting unfortunately.
