An excellent book. I enjoy reading in general and this book was no exception- until I got to the end. The last few pages moved it from an enjoyable read to an instant favorite, and made the second time through even more enjoyable than the first.
James A. Owen brings to life a world where our myths and legends and many classic stories are real. The more you know mythology and the more widely read you are, the more pieces you will recognize from stories you already love.
"Here, There be Dragons" is excellent as a stand alone story, but also begins a series that gives so much more depth to the world we are introduced to in the "Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica."
Yet another great book from OSC. If you haven't read the Ender and Shadow series, start at Ender's Game, and work your way through. All are great books.
For those familiar with the series, this is another great piece in the puzzle, especially as it moves the story toward an unexpected direction. The mix of child and adult in the 3 super-smart kids was great, especially getting each child's perspective on everything. I love how characters and motivations are seen in different lights, depending on who's thought process we are privy to.
Shorter than most, yes, but length does not determine quality. An excellent book. Gives plenty to chew on while we wait for the grand finale, Shadows Alive.
Volume 3 finally finishes the Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes. Included among the 3 volumes are every short story and novel that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle wrote starring this illustrious detective. No library is complete without Sherlock Holmes on the (proverbial) shelf.
