Read this author. Read anything read by this narrator. Seriously, Laurie R King writes a very literate and believable companion for Holmes, and the relationship is half the fun. That aspect gets ignored more and more as the series progresses, but these early books in the series are gems.
But still well worth it. Mitch is at it again, pulling Boy Morgan's bacon out of the fire. This one is more sincere and emotional than the others, but also has its facets of enjoyable romp. I recommend the series.
Its a light enough read that disbelief must be suspended more than once. At the same time, its a scarily accurate nod to Agatha Christie (but with more hot men). Based on this, I read the whole Mitch Mitchell series and none of them fell below this standard.
This was an amazing book. I've heard he is writing another about the little paramedic from this one, and I'm excited for it. The characters are wonderful, the relationship has great tension. The intimate parts are out of this freaking world. And Charlie David reads the stuffing out of it. After this, I'm looking for everything he reads.
It wasn't the best thing I've ever read, but I enjoyed it. All the people touting Jack LeFleur as the narrator of the century aren't far off. His men sound manly and his women don't squeak or whine. He was the brightest part of this book.
I couldn't finish this. It surpassed kinky and got strange, and for me that's a difficult line to cross.
Probably written more for the male reader than the female. To each his own, I suppose.
It wasn't genius, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Get it on sale.
Russell and Holmes have been through the wringer at the hands of Ms. King, always walking a fine line between affection and restraint. As usual though, I am left wanting a little more affection between them. Still interesting characters, it just seems that they're starting to dry up.
I like this lady's style. She writes fascinatingly real characters inhabiting a strange otherworld. She always draws me in.
It was short, but amusing for what it was. Lately I have to be in a strange mood to listen to these, but I can't deny she's a hell of a writer. I've read nearly everything she has on Audible and none of it has been a disappointment,
