I live in Australia and would find it very expensive to telephone to swap a book, but if I was going to exchange a book for another title, this would certainly be one of them.
I did quite enjoy Joan Reeves other title - Old Enough to Know Better (the first of her books I had heard). It was light, but entertaining.
Unfortunately, I found this book silly, unrealistic - to the extreme with a very poor story line.
Sorry, I don't usually put an author down, but I really don't think this particular title is really worth the effort.
It is a shame, but it has turned me off trying any of her other titles.
I don't think the story line was quite up Nora's usual standard. I found myself drifting off occasionally and had to use the 30 second rewind button a few times. I found it a little hard to keep the characters or suspects straight as to who was who on a couple of occasions.
Probably not quite as dark as some of her other books, a little bit more of a blue collar crime than a grissly one.
Having said all that, I wouldn't have missed it for the world as this is one of my favourite series...definitely worth the trouble if you are a die hard fan like myself :)
As always, Susan Ericksen did a wonderful job with the narration.
I have recently been completing Jillian Michaels workout DVDs and was keen to listen to this book. I have learned so much about what NOT to put in my mouth, and if I do, how it will affect me. Processed food has taken on a whole new meaning!
If you are really interested in getting healthy and staying that way, this book provides excellent and sensible information and I think (after making the decision to get fit and stay that way) that it is well and truly do-able.
I found that some of the information is very much related to the USA (I live in Australia), but I still found the book useful and helpful.
I have also found many helpful hints regarding exercise - what to do and what not to do.
All in all, I was very impressed. I would certainly recommend this one!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the series so far and I think this particular book might be one of my favourites.
I particularly like the novels involving the Carpenter family and this one does not disappoint.
Great plot and lots of twists and turns to keep the story from becoming boring.
From the city to Winter Fairly land, favourite characters are brought back into the story and as always, James Marsters's wonderful narration just adds to the quality, emotion and suspence of the story.
I recommend this series of books to anyone who loves fantasy or sci fi fiction.
Only four more books to go...and I know I will be waiting on tenderhooks for book 13!
I am thoroughly enjoying this series of books.
It has been a long time since I have found an author that I have enjoyed so much.
I am now up to book 8 in the series and am still greedy for more.
Jim Butcher's characters come to life due to the clever narration of James Marsters.
The characters pop up time and time again throughout the series and come through as interesting and well rounded. Quite like meeting old friends when each of them come back onto the scene.
Jim Butcher does not overdo the explanations of what happens in previous books which very much make the stories flow on with very little repetition.
I hope he continues with this series as I know once I reach book 12 I will be waiting impatiently for the next installment.
I am an avid Nora Roberts fan and I personally feel that this was her best novel to date. The plot was consistently interesting, the characters were colourful, entertaining and well defined and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the book.
