All of David Bach's Books are great. I recommend this for young couples and older as it is a guide to safely investing and not a get rich quick rather a get rich before you retire.
I tried 3 times to get into the story but just can't because the reader may be stage trained and the voice is too loud so even turning it down will not make it enjoyable. I think you should project when you are on the stage but not in a reader's ear that has head phones on.
Unlike other reviewers I have not read any other Terry Brooks novels prior to this one. It caught my interest and carried me along. This was a great story about the end of the world and with a little magic thrown in.
The reader is very believable and takes you to the story with heart. The characters came alive. I will choose this reader again.
Dick Cheney was funny and brave and a great addition to the story.
Yes I have listened to it twice. I just bought book two. The reader is a great voice to tell this type of story. If you listen to the preview you will probably get the book if you like westerns.
It's a western but very different beginning so it is not like any other book.
Suddenly they were Americans and not Southern soldiers anymore. The war was over and they went home to start their life in Texas.
It started out interesting but fizzled for me. Jane is not someone I am attracted to I guess I did not relate to her and did not find her interesting.
Some might like it I just quit after a while.
Shape Shifter romance.
This is a story about attraction, magic, and ancient culture.
Easy to listen to and kept the story alive.
It is good for teens because it is not about sex but still very romantic.
There have been a lot of stories written about this subject. Nazi Germany, Jewish prison camp, but I still find it fascinating because this is something we should never forget lest it happens again. But I digress this is not what this book is about ultimately it is about the History of Love.
Leo, poor Leo, unrequited love.
Yes I was very delighted by it. You might think is is a sad story but still delightful. How can that be? I guess you will have to read it.
The narrator is so good if you have bad eyes like I do you won't need the print version. You will love it.
I liked everyone in the family. This family really sticks together and at the same time you get to listen to some of the history of Australia. Since that country started a lot like ours I have always been interested in it. Must read for a historical novel lover like I am.
This is a good narrator. I have loved him since I listened to the Power of One.
The author has a way of making the characters come to life. There are so many places for despair and triumph it is hard to stop reading it.
I listened to it all hoping I would find someone that I liked. It was scary and dramatic but none of the people were that likable. Everyone was out for himself. It may be that way but I would like to hope there were some honorable people left.
This book is slow and the antagonism went on too long. Other books by this author were much better.
I like westerns and found this book a little tedious for that genre.
This book caught me up in the story and showed what a terrifying place the world will be after the life as we know it is gone. The people, the houses, the cars, everything gone.
The Characters in the story lived through a scary time and still had redeeming qualities. The terror was not romanticized. The horror was real but the father still managed to teach his son to be a good man.
Not a long drawn out story but well told and draws you in.
