Oh my goodness. How did I get fooled into buying this book? I read some rave reviews here and saw that it was on a best seller list. My advice: if you like suspense or mystery, witty dialogue, interesting characters....this book is NOT for you. It is sappy like a romance novel and has an exceptionally slow moving story line.

Nope. Couldn't finish this one....and I was using it as a sleep aid.

What can I say? I am a fan! I love the story, the writing and the narrator.

Like the story, like the narration. I didn't miss Davenport as much as I thought I would - Virgil is becoming more interesting!

I enjoyed this. The characters were well developed and the dialogue true. Paced well, story line believable, entertaining. Loved the narrator. Overall, a good buy!

I think it's time for Davenport to get some new outside interest to enrich these stories. Life is settling in a bit too predictably for these colorful characters. I appreciate that the "yeh yeh" comments were trimmed down. Solid story but if it were the first "prey" story I had read, I would have not looked for anymore in the series.

Nothing new here. And the suspects "lick their lips" and "blink" all the time, which is just annoying.

Nice stories but I wish she had collected quite a bit more personal testimony before she wrote a book.

Well crafted - but....so descriptively violent.

Loved, loved, loved it! It's a gorgeously written story and the narration was pitch perfect.

Davenports daughter Letty and her voice add some new life into the series. I "binged" and listened to the entire book in less than two days.
